I use a similar model, but there is an overlooked aspect to the barcode scanner that beginners (like me) would not understand by your video alone.
1) The barcode reader works as if it were replacing a keyboard. So you used an editor it would cause the editor to display a sequence of characters when an attempt to read is made.
2)On my barcode scanner there are special barcodes in the instruction manual whose purpose is to put the reader into special modes. If you don't put the reader into the right mode it will not function as expected. I wish I could tell you more about that, but I have just received my barcode scanner.
