ОтветитьThis is beautiful
ОтветитьHave you considered trying Palastinalied in OE?
ОтветитьBeautiful
ОтветитьAnglo-saxon Ængland > Norman “England”
ОтветитьA song about Ealdorman Byrhtnoth of Essex would be great, or Hengist and Horsa
Ответитьis the tune original too? it sounds so familiar but i cant connect it to any existing song...
ОтветитьWhen I was 7 year old, this language I want to heard in music, when I going to sleep. Because a lot of dreams I experience in my dreams and I felt good.
ОтветитьThe Saxons and Angles come from present-day Germany and in Germany the Saxon dialect is still spoken. (the English are Germanic).
ОтветитьThe Anglo Saxons should of won. real england was founded by them, they were orthodox in origin. and even had Christian artwork in the same style, with “agio” as the word for Saint. the normans had to come in and ruin it all.
ОтветитьYes the Normans absolutely decimated our once beautiful language. It makes me sad.
ОтветитьGod bless King Godwinson. The man who died fighting to protect English identity
ОтветитьIt's always odd knowing most English including myself and probably OP are descended from William the Conqueror as well as the very men who fought him.
ОтветитьBattle of Maldon suggestion 😎👍🏻
ОтветитьI learnt old English as a hobby from tapes but this is brilliant - Anglo-Saxon metal.🍻let the mead flow and sing of great deeds🍻
ОтветитьGreetings from Russia, thank you for your great efforts, could you spread more music in Anglo-Saxon, thank you in advance!
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьGorgeous
ОтветитьI'm unapologetically pro-William, true and worthy King of Aengland, but I will say the song is very pleasant to the ears. Cheers!
ОтветитьWish we still used proper english names in England rather than Anglicanised Hebrew names and the like 😂 Im probably the only Englishman today named Rædwald and my daughters received native names too.
ОтветитьI'm Iranian . But when I heard this song, I felt that my Anglo-Saxon blood flowed in my veins and I was proud of myself that I am Anglo-Saxon even though I am Iranian.
U^ェ^U
Love this so much. It would be great to hear a follow up about Hereward the Wake. Then maybe even Edgar Aetheling - he is forgotten by history a little but he is an incredibly interesting guy. The last Aetheling, but he never submitted fully to the Normans although he regularly sought alliances with the likes of Robert Curthose to fight William II. He was the rightful King of England but ended up having more influence in Scotland, where ultimately he put his nephew on the throne of Scotland and regularly sided with the Scots against the Normans in England, basically against King William II. I even have a suspicion Edgar had something to do with William's "hunting accident", it is almost as if he deposed Donald Bán up in Scotland and then Edgar feels he has some sort of momentum because, within about a year, William Rufus mysteriously gets an "injury". He went on the first crusade, most likely almost immediately after the death of William Rufus, he served in the Varangian Guard, he was exiled to Normandy with Robert Curthose. Edgar Aetheling is just so interesting and his influence not just in England and Scotland but right across Europe shows that the Anglo-Saxons did not entirely die out with the defeats of Harold Godwinson and Hereward. In my mind there is a world where, upon the death of William Rufus, Edgar Aetheling could have been crowned King of England had he stuck around a bit but in reality I just don't think any of the Normans would ever have let that happen, I think Edgar probably knew that and maybe did not want to be King at that point with all the potential uproar it would cause. I think he quite liked staying slightly out of the limelight where he could manipulate people like Robert Curthose to lead a rebellion against his own brother.
ОтветитьFree Anglia Free the Saxons fight the NWO (Nordmann World Order) !
ОтветитьLove Harold Godwinson, from Turkey
ОтветитьGod bless Harold Godwinson and every Saxon who died for his homeland. My mother's family came here from England, and I'd like to think some distant ancestor of mine fought for Harold. Keep up the great work!
ОтветитьThough I am proud of my Norman ancestry, I must give it to Harold Godwinson that he was no coward, he was a true warrior king and I will always admire him and all those who preferred to die in the heat of battle than enchained by their foe. God nerie þone cyning!
ОтветитьThis song, is so so MAGNIFICENT!! Thank you so much for making it:)
Ответитьthis is so based. As a Southerner from Tennessee who can trace his ancestry back to England and his name back to Old English, I love hearing the language of our ancestors and the stories of their heroes. Wonderful job
ОтветитьIntresting sunu means son , in sanskrit it means soonus

ОтветитьCan you make a song about the the saxon Herzog Widukind which fight against Charlemagne? It would be very interesting the saxon and the anglo-saxon language was very similiar at this time :) best greetings
Ответить"Hello there"
- Some dude who sailed from Frankia
His valiant defence of his kingdom against a strong enemy, for securing peace with the Vikings and for his farsighted reforms in the reconstruction of Wessex and beyond, that Alfred - alone of all the English kings and queens - is known as 'the Great!
ОтветитьТак давно хотел услышать звучание старого Англо-Саксонского!
А ты сможешь спеть на Норманском языке?
Elképesztő... Imádom. Old English was much more beautiful and glorious than modern English
Ответитьas a english speaker, you can kinda understand the lyrics, and its easy to sing, especially when you know the phonetics.
ОтветитьGreat song. 1066 ƿas a terrible year...
Greetings from a Frisian, ƿe are basically Anglo-Saxons ƿho didn't migrate over to Ænglaland.
I love this language and tone and song. Good work.
ОтветитьEpic! One of the best modern sagas I've ever heard. Just a question: Why Harold Godwinson is spelled as "Harold Godwines sunu" in Old English?
ОтветитьEala god scop!
ОтветитьAs A Saxon Pagan I love your music and would love a song About The Anglo-Saxons before christianity.✝️🤝🌲
Ответитьthis is my nordig roots, my family comes from india we pray to vishnu too.
ОтветитьThis is beautiful song and all, but the Normans are really not as bad as people like to claim them to be. I’m tired of the anti-Norman hate. It’s just a cope many fellow Anglos have tried to use to cast the blame of what England would become onto the Normans, hence making them the supposed reason for anti-English attitudes. The anti-Anglo is just as insane as the anti-Norman. The Normans and English are Germanic brothers whether you accept such or not, just as the Franks are Germanic brothers as well.
