Is Virgin Voyages for You? Scarlet Lady Review

COST - This was a 4 night cruise, I think said 5 in the video, i paid $1556 before the cruise and then I spent about $100 onboard for coffee, a couple drinks, and upgraded internet. Of course prices will vary and there is second itinerary to the western Caribbean.

Just got off Valiant. Food in dining venues, great. Galley limited and repetative. Shows seemed thrown together. Staff around ship aloof, nade no effort. Only saw cabin stew first day, it was an 8 day. Had high hopes and am forward thinking but for us something was off. Cabin bathroom was small not sure how overweight peeps fit!

I am definitley to old but to poor too😂 very pricey- I can take two or more cruises for the same price

I agree!!! Am only after posting that the ad on TV shows all these young, fit and glamorous people. Plus all that colour red on the ad. I am 62 and overweight and definitely not for me. Disgusting how they advertise. Only make ordinary people feel worse.

Tony, Thank you for the great review of the ship. My husband just mentioned that we should check out Virgin Voyages. It sounds like a winner. He hates being nickel and dimed on the other cruise lines. The cost is probably the same if not less in the end. 😊

Virgin's food service looks amazing.

I am very interested in cruising on a VV ship. I’m solo, female and vegan. That’s what sells me, the fact I can get a variety of vegan foods throughout the ship. I’d really like to do a repositioning cruise but at this moment, I’m not sure if VV does these kinds of cruises because I haven’t researched it yet. AND… get a great price on a balcony cabin (must have.) Would love to do a transatlantic, either direction, or even other parts of the world. Guess I better start looking! Good review and thanks.

I watched a video where the designer talks about the thought process behind the design of the couch bed. That is hilarious. I wonder how much they paid that guy for a PITA futon that they don't even use anymore.

How was the quality of the alcoholic beverages and what is the cost? Just came from a Royal Caribbean cruise and was very disappointed with the drinks after coughing up $1,100 for drinks for both my wife and I on the Deluxe Drink Package. They were extremely weak and didn’t even catch a buzz on our 7 night cruise.

More and more i've watched the video the more on sold on Virgin Cruise lines. My only things are 1 my youngest will be 18 in 2025 so i'll have to go without or wait til then and then 2nd is location it's so far! I live in Hawaii and getting all the way to Miami it's so far to travel hence why i haven't traveled to the Bahamas yet but you giving the fluffy seal of approval really gets me. I love that soft drinks are included. The food looks amazing.

I prefer a buffet. I'm not a foodie and I also don't do foo-foo she-she kind of food. I need meat and potatoes.

I just booked a last minute cruise for the 29th - downloaded app and went to book dining reservations and all tht were available were late late so I figure I'll be at the buffet or maybe trying some during the daytime. seems like there's a lot LOL! i'm not too good with apps (older eyes) but can't wait to get away!

Hi, I just found your Vlog - so very informative. I have a question, though and NO ONE's videos, including those of the actual cruise lines, show this - are there any outlets IN the bathroom. I have confirmed that there is a hairdryer supplied in the cabin, but I cannot get an answer as to whether I can dry my hair IN the bathroom. I'm thinking I will have to use the table where the phone is. Can you remember? I know this was a year ago.

I wanted to ask in your experience have you seen some particular ships that might be better for bigger folks? I know most of the rooms are small as well as the bathrooms but I know some might be better than others? Maybe top three or so?

Any issues with internet or taking video calls on this ship?

This is the BEST review. We are a plus size, middle aged couple and I’ve been thinking about this cruise line as a couple’s vacation without the kids but was nervous it would be a primarily 20 something club-going type of crowd. You’ve really helped my decision to give it a try.

curious about the food, if one plate is not enough can you order 2? is there enough food on one plate to satisify our hunger?

One thing I did not like is the bars that were tucked away where you couldn't see anything but four walls - not even windows. These bars generally were empty every time I found one. I love the way Royal and Carnival have most of their bars on either side of the hallways. I sailed on the Valiant Lady last February in a Sea Terrace. The technology is It was a little smaller than staterooms on other cruise lines, but I liked it. I have another Valiant Lady cruise booked for November in a XL Sea Terrace. I got incredible deals on these two cruises and since I have noticed the cruises are more than twice what I paid at the time of booking. The showers were amazing! The water pressure is great! The food on this cruise line is the best I've had at sea.

The entertainment needs to be improved. I don’t want to see a juggler on a cruise, and standing for an hour while being entertained doesn’t sound bad, but American got talent level entertainment is sad.

Thanks for doing this review. I'll never be able to afford a cruise, but I do like to stay abreast of the latest advancements in the industry. If I'm EVER able to do so, I'll likely go on the Red Scarlet. By then, she'll have been decommissioned for decades, though. LOL ;)
