Given that in the last 2 years, pricing is incredibly fluid, adding so much weight to the pricing over features really doesn't future proof the videos. Should have a dedicated part in the video where you discuss value and compare based on current day price/value and go deep there, instead of basing the entire video around fleeting prices.
Also you talk about not knowing why the Gaming X AX B650 variant is more expensive than the B650M or DS3H variants, and dismiss them as the same, and yet we see 13% and 14% better thermal performance, more header/expansion options and then you don't even mention the inclusions of Wi-Fi...
You also include boot times but don't mention the discrepancy is because gigabyte comes with certain settings enabled in the BIOS by default that come disabled by default in MSI...
Excellent. Thank you
ОтветитьAsus seem to have brain damage here in 2023.
ОтветитьTLDR
Asus = No
Gigabyte = Yes
did the msi bios fix all memory issues?
ОтветитьI have seen a motherboard of MSI named B 650 MP without the Wifi in India. I saw your other 35 motherboard review also but it's not there. Can you please review it?? I found no reviews. The motherboard looks as if it has no VRM heat sinks but without review it's confusing. It's cheapest B650 motherboard in India at Rs. 11000.
Ответитьis the boot time still like that even now?
ОтветитьI don't get why you say a board has no wi-fi support when the board has a m2 slot for a wi-fi card and two holes in the io shield for antennas. I would say that it supports wi-fi but doesn't come with the hardware needed.
ОтветитьGreat video quite helpful. But I am looking at building an intel ddr5 for my first build and wondering do you have any video similar or planned soon for the b760 or b660 boards or does the info cross over?(I know there is a gigabyte b760m or the asrock has the b760m pg riptide).
I am building mainly for photo and video editing and was originally going to go am4 5600g or spend a little more and go 5600x, but after researching it sounds like going with intel with apu there is big improvement with video editing performance along with ddr5 not being much more so more future proof along with being able to upgrade cpu later if I need more performance later. Thanks for any input.
me watching this video with my new b650🥲🥲🥲
Ответитьjust got myself an msi pro b650m-a wifi for $130 new. absolute steal
ОтветитьShopping for a B650 motherboard I've came across this video. I'm honestly a bit worried that there is a significant Gigabyte bias here. There's zero mention of the coil whine issues plaguing the Gigabyte boards that you'll quickly hear about after you start researching these boards.
Gigabyte also donated the entire test system, meanwhile they mention that Asus did not send them boards they wanted, forcing HWU to fork out their own cash to test the boards.
This is almost leaning towards paid advertising for Gigabyte.
I'd imagine behind closed doors the relationship between Gigabyte is significantly better than Asus.
All the same, thanks for the work you've put into this video, I can't imagine the work put into swapping over so many different motherboards and running so many tests.
Would you still recommend the Gigabyte b650m DS3H?
Really enjoying the Podcast too guys.
Thank you for taking the time. I know mobo reviews are not super popular but they are useful.
Ответитьso is there no cpu temp difference between a 6 phase vrm and 14? i have a 7800x3d and ds3h im trying to figure out why my cpu temp is so high in dead space remake
ОтветитьYet again.. Gigabyte takes the win and comes in at a lower price than the garbage Asus is putting out.
ОтветитьAsrock pg riptide wifi is now 23s from push power button to windows login. 1.30 bios.
ОтветитьGigabyte Aero G B650 here, far lower thermals than the ones you showed from Gigabyte oddly enough, with a 7900x, 32gb 5600.
Ответитьthis video has solved all my issues :)
ОтветитьCan you please add how many PCB layers there are in these motherboard comparisons? It makes a difference in terms of interference and therefore stability when you're making the most of the power stages. Thanks!
ОтветитьIve got a ASUS tuf b650 plus motherboard and temperature is 60 c , is this normal?
ОтветитьAsus is the only that supports real ECC.
ОтветитьI am looking at the asrock b650M pro as it currently priced good in my country, but there are no reviews on it. Anyone bought it? Any info on it?
Ответитьplanning to get the asrock b650 pro rs is the memory issue fixed already? cause im gonna be pairing it with a 32 gb 6000mhz cl30.
ОтветитьAfter playing some of these newer games i started lagging and freezing bad. thought it was my graphics card which was part of it, bought a 3060 and i was still having issues. found out it was my cpu. granted my cousin helped me build my pc and its 11 years old now, it is far out dated and im surprised it lasted this long. I just ordered a ryzen5 7600x cpu and an msi pro b650-p bundle. I wanted a gigabyte motherboard. But unfortunately buying a ryzen 5 7600x seperately was on backorder everywhere and i couldnt get it for a few weeks. So i went with the msi bundle, keeping everything under $600 including motherboard, cpu and cooler. Im glad I didnt buy the asus bundle now. I think itll be far superior than the AMD fx8320 that's in this thing now lol.
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьGreat job, really useful information
Ответитьgigabyte wow well I never. thanks to you I will now swap my asrock B650 for gigabyte B650M Gaming! Wow I would never have guessed it would be better
ОтветитьDoes the b650m ds3h come with wifi?
ОтветитьBeen buying gigabyte ds3h boards for years, never had a problem
ОтветитьQuick question: the performance differences seem too big (well shown in Shadow of the Tomb Raider), why are MSI and Gigabyte boards so much ahead of other boards which can run RAM at 6000mhz? Is it a BIOS issue and you'll retest some of these with new BIOS?
ОтветитьCheap Asus boards are always at the bottom despite definitely not being the cheapest. It is quite embarrassing for Asus, who keeps advertising themselves as "number one in quality".
ОтветитьMan do I love and at the same time hate figuring out what I want to get. Just so many damn options and a lack of knowledge on my part. Thanks for these vids they help guide me
ОтветитьLuv your channel, you give some of the best info to make the right decision
Ответитьdoesn't the gigabyte b650m ds3h has a coil whine problem ?
Ответитьi see that the Asus Prime B650M-A wifi II doesnt perform bad. At the 144 euro price is the non wifi version bad? The asrock hdv is pricier in Greece
ОтветитьIve seen on reddit that gigabyte is to stay clear of? Or are mortherboard okays?
ОтветитьI got the GIGABYTE B650M DS3H for 129! Amazon prime day
Ответитьfyi after some setting changes and bios updates, my msi pro b650-p boots up in 23 seconds.
ОтветитьWith the DS3H you will also get the premium sounding coil whining.
ОтветитьThat ASRock riptide really surprised me. It's the cheapest one at microcenter
ОтветитьLooks like the Gigabyte B650M Gaming X AX is the board to have in this class. Fewer Ram issues and has PCI 5.0x4 for NVE drives (rev 1.2) the rest of the boards are pci 4.0 x 4 speeds.
ОтветитьThis video is amazing. You're amazing. What a channel!
ОтветитьMsi is really rocking it, i would like to see all the msi b650 in a comparision
ОтветитьThank you Steve and team. No one else does this in depth and quality motherboard reviews!

ОтветитьShould I be worried about getting a PC with the Asus Prime B650M-A WiFi II?
It seems better than the original, and it was at a reasonable price, but the temps and the potential exploding CPU kinda worries me...
I just built with the MSI B650 P. My boot time is 28 sec.
ОтветитьFor a gaming rig, wouldn't it be rather stupid to pick a board "only" packing aNVMe PCI-Express 4.0 port? With a NVMe PCI-Express 5.0 port you could get much faster loading times with a matching drive, right? And NVMe PCI-Express 5.0 drives should drop in pricing going forward.
