¡Hola!🙂 ¿Cuál te parece mejor? ¿Squier Classic Vibe '70s Jazz Bass V o Harley Benton BZ-5000 II NT?
ОтветитьI'll stick with my Ibanez basses, thanks!
ОтветитьWould this be better than the squire affinity series jazz basses?
ОтветитьIt has the looks of a Sandberg VM but the sound is nowhere in the realm of a Sandberg VM. The P pickup on Sandberg is a beast in passive mode
ОтветитьLove your channel always informative. I got a question for the bass. Is the MM style pickup on the sweetspot position that it would be on a Musicman bass or is it off?
ОтветитьNew comment on an old video, I saw HB made this in a 25th anniversary edition. Wonder if any of the upgrades will bring up the claw value? I think the frets are stainless and maybe something else. I'm interested in the firemist jazz and the firemist this thing. Not sure if either are worth the upcharge for the paint job and SS frets. A few reviews seem to indicate the fit and finish on the firemist editions is pretty good. Curious what others think.
Ответитьburping?..really .....?
Ответитьgreat review. i was considering to get one of those, but after your review, i changed my mind. because weight issues is the biggest dealbreaker for me.
thank you for saving me from a bad investment.
I only just watched u'r face expression about how quality that bass...,it's enough😊😊
ОтветитьVery nice review!
Half expected you to open up with:
"Hey, Lobster here" vsauce music
Looks inspired by the Peavey T-40, just not the quality.
ОтветитьI wonder how the new 25th anniversary model of this would match up in the 4 string version with the new roasted maple neck.
ОтветитьI know you didn't really care for this one, but have you looked at the jazz version at all? (MJ-4)
ОтветитьThe four string version seems to be a much better bass.
ОтветитьThank you for your honest opinion!
ОтветитьI gotta say. I kinda like it and it’s mainly because I’ve always wanted a P bass MusicMan combination. I am planning to get one of those and I’m sure it’s gonna sound really fantastic. However, I think there’s another good one on the market which is the Maruszczyk jake 5p. Do you think u could try that one?
ОтветитьLove the idea of this bass. a split coil with a MM and a high quality bridge is what i'm after. I agree though, this thing aint gettin it done.
ОтветитьLiterally just followed because of the legend of Zelda soundbyte 🤙🤙
Ответить“This is a heavy bass, close to 11 pounds”….that sounds like heaven after 3 years with an 18lb 6 string Ibanez lmao
ОтветитьHey there Lobster! I know this is a late review so you might not even notice it, but if you do - here's one for ya: I'm on the market for a solid budget 5 to take to the gigs where I'd rather not take my beloved Alembic Essence to (or as a backup bass). I wanted a bass with a maple board (pretty much an aestetic choice). A MM-style bass would be preferred, as I've always wanted to add that Stingray tone to my stable. I was looking at this one or maybe the Sterling Ray SUB 5 (I can't shell out the cash for a Sterling Ray 35 at the moment). How much better the SUB is compared to this HB? There's one in my favourite black/maple combo available on one of Polish sites and I'm really thinking of pulling the trigger on that one. Thanks in advance for your reply!
ОтветитьWhat do you guys think about the size of the body. Just about to buy one but concerned about the size of the body has the most my time or place sitting down. Don’t want to be wrestling with it :)
ОтветитьMan, quit playin. That thing sounds GOOD AND FAT WITH THE RIGHT EQ!!!📢
ОтветитьPlease get this stupid red hand off.
Ответить?
ОтветитьBully reviewed the Harley Benton B-450, less than half the price, two buckers, active/passive toggle. whilst the strings and chain will be different that sounded much clearer. Shame their premium basses are poor compared to the cheapies 😢 great review Lobster, many thanks
ОтветитьIt’s a big pleasure to look at your face when you really dislike a bass… you can’t hide you expressions.
That bass gave H. Benton a bad name.
Thanks for protecting us from a bad buy👍🏽
I have the 4-string version and the P-pickup is dead silent :) I changed the MM pickup to a Seymour Duncan SMB4D that I had laying around, and also swapped the pre-amp for a 3-band Glockenklang as well as installed a 3-way DPDT switch for the humbucker to switch between series, parallel and single coil. The bass itself is great and can compete with basses for double it's price, but the original pre-amp and humbucker are pretty bad! The P-pickup on the other hand is fat, punchy and great sounding! Also, the finish on mine is impeccable. I have the eggnod yellow/white one (definitely not a "vintage white" haha) so it's a gloss finish. Maybe there is more problems with the clear satin finish as it seems like more people have been complaining about finish problems on that model?
ОтветитьA zero fret!
ОтветитьI got really curious about the 4 string version of this bass in blue finish. It has some really nice appointments, neck binding , hardware and looks really nice but indeed the pups and pre are really crap. I would have returned it but it was a hassle to deal with Thomann in that regard so I got 75 bucks off after much back and forth complaining. It awaits modding at the moment and has been waiting for well over a year and a half. I am certain upgrades could transform it into a pretty decent bass and not just polishing a turd. The mods would indeed cost more than the bass. The balance on the 4 banger is ok with strap, but the bass is weighty. Love your kitty.
ОтветитьWanna sell it?
Ответитьnice video!
Where did you get this shirt?
Ну можно же сначала научиться нормально играть прежде чем делать обзоры, ну че такое
ОтветитьSounds good for $350 bucks.
ОтветитьOne of my favourite HB basses…
ОтветитьThanks for this one. It reminds me why I buy quality basses. The "lowest" I'll go is Sire because the neck on my V7 has survived years of beach gigs and other hazzards. It's Gen 1 stock and still perfect.
I wanted to like this bass because I want a humbucker and a P style in one bass.. to use separately. But Even after upgrades, I'll still be worried about the neck wood quality.
Zero fret! 😃👍
My first question was going to be how heavy because it just looks like vintage Peavey heft! The skinny P always seems to me that they should have the same size covers as the typical double pole P's. Thanks for addressing that as always. I'm very interested in these Harley Benton a but have yet to order them. Is there any kind of "hidden costs" shipping to USA from Germany? The site gives you a shipping cost, but any other costs?
So this is what happen when Lobster ain't feeling it😁😊
You defnitly have the ears and feel to know what's up
I tried a Squier VM Jazz V at a local store (yeah, they don't sell many basses) and it was neck heavy but the bass itself was ok. The neck was nice but it was so unbalanced. I wish people did more reviews on budget 5 string basses.
ОтветитьI have this bass with the cream paintjob and it really is heavy. And that's because the body is thick!!! I measured 4,5cm while the Sire V3 (same price range) is only 4,0 cm thick. And on my bass, there are also some issues with sharp/uneven frets. The tone really isn't convincing. I even consider selling it. :/
ОтветитьI would love to buy it from you if you do some work on it like cooper shelding and up grade the pick ups
ОтветитьDo you still have this bass
ОтветитьThe bass might be one though bad batch they shipped to probably a rush job
ОтветитьYou're getting a humm on the P Pickup because the coils are unbalanced. Some companies solve this by extending the D/G coil a bit so they can have the same amount of wire.
My Fender American 5 String had this issue. Rewired, shielded it, replaced the pickup and the slight hum was still there before I realized it was a design flaw.
Nice t-shirts give me address please!
ОтветитьBefore this line of basses, the cheapest way to get stainless steel frets on a bass was an €829 metal kiddie styled Schechter, and for normal people you had to cross the €1000 threshold for a "normal" Schechter or Ibanez with stainless steel frets. Fender didn't start introducing stainless steel until the €1400 mark. That's where all the money goes into with this and everyone should be aware of that. Also you probably have one of the bad bridge pickups that came through the production lines for a couple of months.
ОтветитьDearest lobster 🦞, I like this video as well. That is all.
Sincerely, Your Crustacean
11 lbs AND neck heavy... That's almost impressive
ОтветитьLate to the party, but is it me or it looks like a Peavey T-40 ?
Ответить
