I’ve checked their so called “certified” speedometers on multiple cruisers. All are off. Either reading a little high or a little low. I’ve seen a couple off by almost 10mph.

LOL certified spedometers should NEVER be analogue. All certified spedometers in Australian police cars are separate digital displays not the cars in car dash

I still drive my 2006 CVPI daily. Has 740 idle hours and 271004 miles on her. Had a new engine installed by the dept 20,000miles before I got it which is why the low idle hours. Getting an 07 next week to put next to my 06 and 09. Now I just need an 08…..

Speedometers are usually very accurate, according to the CAN data sent to the cluster. No speedometer is ever always accurate, as they can be affected by tyre wear, etc.

Does that mean that the speed detected on my phone is the correct speed of my car? It always seems to be a few mph slower than my speedometer

All cars should come with certified speedometers. Being allowed to be off is just wiggle room for the police to give you a ticket.
