Good. And the ending is well done! Some breaks in the audio, including an inauspicious one at the climax, but hey, it's a broken sort of world isn't it Mr./Mrs. Jeckyll/Hyde? 😅
ОтветитьI believe we're due for another version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Hollywood, please stay out of it.
ОтветитьThis TV movie originally aired in 1968, not 86! Produced by Dan (Dark Shadows, Winds of War, Burnt Offerings) Curtis.
ОтветитьI remember seeing this back in '73 on television. I loved it then, and still do today. In my opinion, this is the best ever adaptation of the classic tale.
ОтветитьMr Hyde is fun. I’d hang out with him. How did he manage his own place and friends so quickly?
Ответитьwow, that waltz they played a few times was from the old Dark Shadows tv series 67-71. Only problem is that the audio keeps cutting out.
Ответить1968, not 1986
ОтветитьPourquoi le film n'est pas sous titré
ОтветитьThis version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde I remember vividly from long ago. The performance of Jack Palance is riveting. They did no need for special effect only Jack Palance's facial expression changed from mild and humble to psychotic amazing.
ОтветитьHyde what are you doing holy alley cat's Jekyll do you have a lot of explaining to do
ОтветитьThe sound drops off! Damn! Such a great production.
ОтветитьWhite Castle does that to me.
ОтветитьWonderful
Ответить❤ I loved it
ОтветитьMore English teleplay than movie ... but that's what makes it so damned English good. Palance at his remarkable best.
ОтветитьLove watching historical British movies because they actually had brains, morals, etiquettes, mannerisms and culture
Things which are estranged in modern society
You should see Jack palance in Sudden Fear with Joan Crawford.. Such a good performance.
Ответить1968 not 1986
ОтветитьWhy does the volume keep cutting out on some scene? Copywrite issue, other than that fantastic adaptation. I 1st heard of this film through a preview on one of Elvira's Thriller Video back in the mid 80's.
ОтветитьThis is the best version of this story!
ОтветитьJust saw this movie on amazon prime…was really good…
ОтветитьExcellent, R.I.P Jack Palace
ОтветитьBeautiful Billie Whitelaw.
ОтветитьI was hoping this movie would be a faithful version of the novel but even though it wasn't, it was extremely enjoyable. I first found out about this when I read Dick Smith created the Mr. Hyde makeup. Not only was it a great makeup design but the makeup looked great in closeups. The only downsides for me was the shot-on-video look and the score. To be fair, the tale is so well known, I don't know if the mystery aspect of the original novel would work so perhaps there's good reason a faithful movie has yet to be made. Thank you for uploading this movie. I watched it streaming today and it's nice to know it's also available for me here.
ОтветитьThis was actually made in 1968
ОтветитьThe best Dr Jekyll Mr.Hyde movie ever made
ОтветитьWhat kind of Cane is that?
ОтветитьFilmed in Toronto
ОтветитьDenholm Elliot Is a scene stealer!
ОтветитьSo, Jekyll must stay awake? He flees to Germany....and invents Meth.
ОтветитьWhat's with the sound dropping out for long periods? Couldn't finish
ОтветитьBRIEF COMMENT: THIS IS AN EXCELLENT TV FILM ON THE JEKYLL-HYDE TALE WHICH IS WELL KNOWN IN THE MACABRE LITERATURE. IT WAS MADE IN 1968 IN ENGLAND & PRODUCED/DIRECTED BY THE LATE DAN CURTIS & THE LATE JACK PALANCE IN THE STARRING ROLE. IT'S BEEN ON DVD FORMAT FOR MANY YEARS. (RIP) DAN CURTIS & THE LATE JACK PALANCE. BOTH MEN ALSO APPEARED IN THE DRACULA TV FILM MADE IN THE SAME YEAR.
ОтветитьMade in 1968
ОтветитьThis is not from 1986 but 1968! For 1968 this is pretty decent Video quality! Produced and Directed by Dan Curtis who was doing DARK SHADOWS at the time and if you'll observe: the music you hear is from Dark Shadows.
ОтветитьDifferent from the book...
ОтветитьJack Palance is my favorite Jekyll/Hyde -- his is the most menacing performance.
ОтветитьThis was a "very good show".
I'm a fan of 60's and 70's tv horror, of which Dan Curtis gave us a lot.
Thanks so much for posting!
This is the best one Jack Palace did a superb performance! Dan Curtis and Robert Colbert excellent! Bille White law all excellent! First saw it when aired! I've got to get dvd! Bravo Rip to all of those mentioned!❤
ОтветитьI have always liked this movie but in the scene where Hyde kills Gwen, his mouth is open in a closeup making it seem as if her screams are coming from his mouth.
ОтветитьSaw this when I was 17. Jack Palance is my favorite horror actor.
ОтветитьThis film was made in 1968, NOT 1986.
ОтветитьJack palance was also brilliant and in the Dan Curtis production of of Dracula that was a TV movie also Dan Curtis the the guy famous for dark shadows don't forget to see that to get that on DVD Dracula with Jack palance this movie is equally great great work good movie
Ответить1968 TV movie and Jack Palance is brilliant!!!
Ответитьwhat a brilliant movie! pity about the disappearing sound
ОтветитьTeretetetereteteterete limpia parabrisas
ОтветитьFans of Dark Shadows would recognize the background music.
