Choosing an Assisted Living Facility: What to look for and questions to ask.

Ok, Debra, I'm seated here with my fav drink, and note pad 📝 thank you for listing the differences between Assisted Living n a Nursing Home. My mil lived in a nursing home in upstate NY for two years before she died. They took good care of her. The place was clean n inviting.

What about Medicaid long term care? Don’t they pay for assisted living?

Is it legal for 1 assisted living facility to call the 1 where your parents are that you have complaints about, telling them you were there about moving your parents? I hated the place & would never move my parents there & felt my privacy was violated when the 1 administrator called the mgr where my parents have lived! I was shocked!

My sister was in the assisted living facility, The Residence., in Darien, Ct. She was there for 3 years, with Lewy.Body dementia. Private ins. 3700 a month, and with everything extra, about 10,000, a month Very expensive.

What is it’s a spouse and we have joint assets? How does the pay work?
