When DiNiro did the hard point into the alley it was straight wickedness.

The funniest thing would of been to show a shot of the guys in the store with a bunch of dresses like “hmmm guess she doesn’t want any”

I find this scene hilarious, the way de niro points right there😂 damn, goodfellas is full of hilarious moments that are sad and scary at the same time

You can also hear, that these two killers are just setting up the room, for a whacking. “Move the box over, block the window.

The last words I can hear are… “Shhh shhh shhh… just be quiet…”

As if to say, “let her come in.” Her arriving just a few minutes too soon, saved her life.

This scene scared the shit out of me.

Unfortunately Bally "Nitro Ground Shaker" wasn't made until 1980. Pretty much ruins the entire scene's realism for me.. Scorsese isn't known for his period-accurate sets, as shown by this obviously lazy flub, of which there are a lot of in this film.

this scene feels like its right out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie. Pure suspense and atmosphere suggesting potential murder.

This is were he screwed up big time. He should of walked with her into the store and then she would of been nabbed and her husband would of not been able to go to the feds would of done his time to save her life and that would of been the end of it .

What’s insane to me is how Jimmy thought Karen would fall for this. Of course anybody would be afraid to go into a dark dingy worn down empty shop full of strange big men telling each other to shush as soon as they see you. Should’ve made it more presentable.

That last look down to that corner that he was directing her to--clearly showed his disgust that his henchmen down there blocking windows with boxes to block her screaming, had not succeeded with his whack for that particular day. 🫤

Jimmy Had it set up, you could tell. Look at how Disappointed he was when she left.

Underrated scene. One of the best, scariest, most affective, I have ever seen.

I think this scene shows one of Karen's strengths: her intuition. She may not know the nuances and practices of the mafia like Henry, but she has an acute sense for danger or generally when something is wrong. Just like how she flushed the cocaine down the toilet to keep it from incriminating her family, she makes some smart decisions based on gut feelings that help her survive despite her lack of knowledge about the mafia. Without her intuition, she would have gotten killed, and Henry may have been too distraught to consider that Jimmy was the culprit, instead of walking into the diner in the next scene knowing that Jimmy likely tried to have his wife killed.

You can hear the guys saying “if I have a gizzard and you have a gizzard whaddawegot?”

The fact that he didn't walk with her was the biggest tell.

The gentlemen inside can be heard saying… “don’t block the window… then ssshhhh shhhh as she approaches. She was done for.

Can someone explain this scene to me? He was setting her up, right? This scene makes me paranoid each and every time.

MS is a genius if u see right before Karen turns around the electric road sign is on “Dont Walk” and the street is “One Way” such a subtle but genius way of foreshadowing what could’ve been.

lol when I first watched this I just thought the whole setting was odd, but didn't think of it as too creepy.
Jimmy just looked too goofy to appear creepy in any way with those glasses

I love how they never cause Jimmy to reavt in a way that would tell you what his itentions were.

I love that "subtle" scene when Karen was leaving there were 2 signs don't walk and a one way arrow pointing towards the room.

It just didn't seem like they were trying very hard to kill her

This is actually a pretty nice neighborhood lol. You walk one block west and you’re in Carroll gardens with boutiques, coffee shops, and hipsters.

You can just tell Karen isn't meeting Women from The Red Cross when Jimmy keeps looking around and behind him. He knows. He just doesn't want any witnesses
