My ADHD, they say, is "off the charts". It was diagnosed years ago. But I experience so many autism symptoms that I continually watch your channel.
For me, I can travel, just not alone. I have to take a 3 hrs trip driving solo next month and I'm terrified. I'm so sure I'll forget something, bring the wrong gift, over share, and get in a crash driving home at night

I had to take a trip on a plane by myself a few weeks ago. I was so stressed because the airport had been remodeled and I was by myself. I went to the airport website. The Salt Lake City airport has an orientation video that explains how to get around. They also had a very good map of the inside of the airport. I watched the video several times and studied the map. I also figured out what and where I would eat my lunch while waiting for my plane. This made things go so much better for me!

I've had issues but I've had them so long I just don't even pay attention to him anymore I guess because I just got so used to them

One of the things that I do is I will pick out the person or two people talk to him and that helps with my anxiety

Well um when I use the plane, I always and I Mean ALWAYS have a book with me because I have a fear of heights and my dad makes sure I never get the window seat 😅

Also when I’m alone, I get special assistance to help me get through the airport because without that I would PANIC

Waze, I can't live without the App Waze. When driving it tells you about things that are happening miles ahead of you, for example roadworks, and Hazard's so you have time to mentally prepare, therefore no unexpected surprises!

Expressing a desire to travel the world would be an act of masking for me.

Hi, I have ADHD and anxiety. I love to travel too, but there was always some irrational weird fear before the trip. I travelled to 25 countries but last four year I didn't travel anywhere. :/ Btw your channel is awesome, you're so charismatic and keep it up amazing work. 😊 🥰

My anxiety increases when there is a new restaurant I’m going to. Sometimes I like trying new things. When unknown I can’t handle trying new food, pulling up the menus online before going can help. Unless there is nothing on the menu I want and everyone wants to go there.

I found out I was on the spectrum and travel anxiety has been one of my most challenging symptoms and I never knew it was linked, of course being only just diagnosed, by watching you!

Makes you feeling more safe having somebody with you keep your mind of the back sounds away then you feel comfortable flying or in a car

I and my oldest have autism. When I travel we do a binder just a simple zipper one that we use tabs and put all our stuff in from tickets to times to contacts ect. I add in tabs for each day gone with a sleeve so if he or I find something cool and want to save it like a wrist band or a receipt for instance just pop it in the sleeve for that day. Then we store the binder when we get back and it becomes a trinket and the next time just get a new binder and same thing. We also have lists in it what to pack and when we get back we can write down what we used what we didn't and so forth to refine what we travel with depending on if it was a cruise or a hotel short or long stay ect. Lists for food and where to stop and he loves his own map we put in a sleeve and he moves his car as we go if it's a long drive.

Hello! I am suspicious that my boyfriend might have aspergers. He likes routine, for example, almost every day we would go to the electronics shop to check out the phones and computers. To new experiences he usually says "no". He can hear the tiniest sounds which I can barely hear. He doesn't keep eye contact very well in a sense that when I am talking to him he kind of looks through me. He is not able to relate to my emotions and my needs. He communicates with strangers without problems, he is charming and friendly. He likes jokes a lot. Are these signs or am I over sensitive? Is yes, how to open this issue with him?

If i go somewhere where I talk about a subject I am obsessed with the obsession and excitement of the end goal seems to out way the anxiety of the travel. Yet if it s something more mundane I find it near impossible and often have to cancel.

Some airports are worse. Atlanta and Chicago are not autism friendly.

As a kid I had so much anxiety when we stayed at someone's house like when we went to to Michigan. I don't recall any traumatizing event. Just being in a different place for a night was the event. It seems I've gotten better. But at night I want to be home. Like if it's getting later and I'm not home it really really bothers me.

I came across your videos this morning. And I have to say it was like the light bulb finally went on. I have found your videos incredibly helpful. Our adult son is 22 years old and no doubt in my mind he has Asperger's Syndrome. I can't wait to share your You Tube Channel with him. I think it's going to help him tremendously. Thank you so much for sharing your journey and tips. It's even helped me as a parent to understand now. Thank you again!
