I want the SCH skill to be a party wide in combat move speed buff that makes them necessary on a lot of fights. lol

I like that they gave SCH a combat peloton in the same expansion that they're giving everyone and their mother some kind of dash/gap closer.

know what would have made this so much better? the buff allowing the party to cast while running. not instacasting, but like scholar could be casting Adlo or succor while dodging AoE's, the BLM being able to finish their fire3 while moving, white mage can start their holy cast as they gap close into the enemy etc and it wouldnt really be busted if it's like a 1 minute recast for 10-15 second buff.
because lets face it, scholar is the raid utility healer. their heals are nice, but you bring us along for utility. shields, crit up, regen, damage mitigation etc i dont care if our damage is low, as long as just being there means the raid is far stronger i would be fine wiht that. cause in lore we are meant to be strategists, so just go hard into that for feck sake. let us have like 18 buttons of different party or placed AoE effects. can range from simple field of regen and protection, to Esuna having slight AoE and those that get it have a buff for 15 seconds meaning they cant be debuffed again by something that can be esuna'd (which also fits into the lore of the current scholars trying to understand and heal/prevent a particular disease) have Eos give the scholar 10% healing potency boost and the party 5% damage mitigation, Selene 10% damage buff to the scholar and 5% crit damage up for just being summoned. or attach the latter effects to their embraces to be a buff for 5 seconds (and have Seraph combine both sets of effects and it's embrace be party heal to really make Seraph feel stronger than the fairies) there is so much you can do if you rethink scholar from "barrier healer with fairy" to "strategist with healing and fairy" let us keep the barriers ofcourse but make the rest of our kist just full on utility. sure some things will be useless in some content but thats the case now anyway so meh to it.
but this could just be me huffing all the copium stocks in SW england out of depression that "the devs dont know what to give scholars" .... sigh i will remain to the end, a scholar main.... feckers....

as a sch main, tbh the sch was one the only job that really didn't need anything new or a rework just spell animation upgrades... that said this video is the best ever!!

As much as I like having a fairy companion, I would be happy if they brought SCH closer to it's original design in FF3. Have it be focused around "items" that are abilities and have it work around them. So like potions, ethers, Heaven's Wrath, Bombshell etc... I understand it wouldn't fit with the fairy story that the game has, but it could be really cool direction for it to go in since it's original gimmick was doubling item effects. They could tie it in by saying something along the lines of using Nymian magicks to increase the potency of items and that's how they could do all kinds of things? Idk, scholar might just be out of luck tho

in all honesty, though, this will be pretty beneficial for the raiding scene. especially if you consider that they also mentioned the speed buff will also mitigate some damage. sch was in a pretty decent spot, so there wasn’t much to change. i just wish they gave us another skill that uses the fairy gauge. and also made eos/selene different again.

It's funny how poorly the meming on SCH aged. Not the memes themselves, but people that were down on Expedience.

The funnier part is the retconning of people insisting they were never down on it and realized early on how powerful it was and it just was "presented poorly", when they did not at all realize how powerful it was..

The reality is it wasn't "flashy" (as this video shows of other Jobs) and so people were down on it because so many people are all flash/presentation, no depth/substance. If they lived in a Disney movie, they'd be turned into beasts and locked in a castle with a magical rose based on the way they think of things.
