People really underestimate the real world.
Even if they can't get a hatch to match the supercar, the numbers the rolled off at the start aren't "real"
A highly strung, normally aspirated engine makes its stated horse power at the very very top end of the range. Every single rev lower it makes less and less. Forced induction engines tend to spread their power over a wider range making that power more accessible. That Lambo, i guarantee, will only ever see it's peak HP in 1st and possibly 2nd gear. After that you're going too fast.
The Audi will give a huge chunk of its peak from the mid range up. And thats why i can keep up, even with "less" HP and more weight

Should have done it where temp was more normal at 70 degree Fahrenheit. Lambo would be at least 2-3 seconds faster I think

Tho ! The RS3 can be powered up for a not so large amounts of $$$$ the RS3 can quickly pass from 400 HP to 600/700 HP…. Sure you can get way more from this miraculous 5 cylinders, but you would probably have to open the engine and work inside, as for the 600/700 HP !? you can achieved that pretty easily with only bolts on parts ! 👍👍👍😍

and i bet if you mapped the S3 it will be on par to the stock lambo

There is something called the law of diminishing returns and supercars have never been positioned on the efficient frontier of price/performance and never will be.


For what it's worth though, if one is going to play that game neither have fast Audi's or beamers been at that point either.
Instead you'd be looking at hot hatches from your fully mass market manufacturers.
