"Nah thats just americans in vietnam, lol"
ОтветитьFun fact: since the imperium has 5 to 4 millions guardsman for each Marine, loosing 250.000 for a hill is very cheap and a sound strategy.
ОтветитьI get warhammer is grimdark and all that but how is humanity so...well...heartless towards thier own? The empire of mankind faces countless horrors and yet living conditions on hive worlds and politics along with lack of empathy pretty much feels as though there isnt much of humanity left. Just robots.
ОтветитьSo given the current setting what with Imperius Nihlis, they better fix the whole gray knights killing survivors. Because THERE IS A GIANT ASS CRACK FROM HELL PARTING HALF THE GALAXY. No fraking way noboy knows about Chaos anymore. So that's a really stupid ass rule to still keep around.
ОтветитьThe song name for the guardsmen? Ik its sabaton
ОтветитьThe number of 250,000 Guardsmen dead is (Propably) not the actual number of how many of them died, it's more or less how many men fell trying to capture that hill, if it was less than that means there's still some Guardsmen ready to die for the Emperor, if it was more than who cares? Objective was taken, no matter how strategically insignificant it was
ОтветитьThe PS1 Alien Resurrection Xenomorph SFX just knocked me back 2 decades!
ОтветитьAlso. Meanwhile, Death Korps Of Krieg
ОтветитьNo one expects the Grey knights
ОтветитьSpace Marines win battles, Imperial Guard win wars.
ОтветитьWhat song is used for the Guardsmen part?
ОтветитьSurviving being attacked by satan and killing him just to get smoked by some asshole doomguy cosplayer then having your soul tortured anyways is top tier bullshit
Ответитьhahahahaha the fuggin Grey Knight.
ОтветитьTBF the guardsman outnumber the space marines millions to one. They take far less resources to maintain and are a much more short term investment. They can take the losses a lot more.
Ответитьcongrats for the mil views
Ответить*Clears an entire hill and finally gets a victory
*Proceeds to be beaten up by a shiny space muffin with a hammer
"Ahh another victory!"
I mean consider it from a resource standpoint.
Guardsmen are mostly nat born. No shortage on that front. Their equipment is produced em mass and their training is relatively short. Also their effective service life is 20-30 years tops even if they don’t get shot in the head.
Compare a space marine. Gene seed is a VERY VERY limited resource. Training can easily take well over one hundred years. Their equipment is all borderline master crafted. Finally the service life of a space marine lasts until they get domed.
One space Marine may be worth a thousand Guardsmen, but it’s cheaper to loose millions of guard than a handful of marines. Case and point Vraaks.
О великий суп наварили
ОтветитьReminds me of how the narrator of the All-Guardsman Party described their character creation process. For anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of witnessing this glorious greentext series, here's the Cliff Notes:
They were playing a W40K tabletop RPG, I think it was Inquisitor. Like the name suggests, you roleplay as an Inquisitor, roaming the Imperium purging heresy and xenos filth wherever you find it. The players of this particular campaign decided they all wanted to play as Imperial Guardsmen. Instead of each player rolling up one character, they started the campaign by playing a 40K wargaming scenario, some legions of Guardsmen attempting to defend a world against a Tyranid swarm. By the end of the battle, about 100 Guardsmen survived out of a force of hundreds of thousands. An Inquisitor ship rocked up and evacuated the survivors before subjecting the planet to exterminatus. Out of those 100, half were summarily executed by the Inquisitor because they were either hybrid Tyranids disguised as Humans or were infected with Tyranid eggs. The remaining 50 were inducted into the Inquisition and served as a pool of characters from which the players could draw whenever one died during the main campaign.
anyone know what the song at the end was?
ОтветитьThe Xenomorph noise when the 'Nid got sawed up by the chainsword was perfect.
Ответить"A quarter million of my battle brothers died for a STUPID HILL?!?"
Grey Knight: "They sure did!"
Guardsman: "But Grey Knights don't exist!"
Grey Knight: pulls out power hammer, "They sure don't, son...."
-"So my lord Grey knight when do i win?"
-"That's the neat thing: you don't"
Losing a Million men to get 2 feet of ground is an entire foot more than thought to be possible to be captured, Astounding work
ОтветитьО великий суп наварили.
Ответитьi just love it when you add lines from elder scrolls in your vids
ОтветитьThis is literally ww2 lore the guardsmen are the soviets losing 3 million in 1 week and the germans losing 100 every year
ОтветитьHere's an interesting situation: a Guardsman lone survivor of a battle (just like pictured above) where DEMONS have made an incursion, is confronted by a squad of Grey Knights "cleaning the area." They go to smash his brains in, but an AQUILAN SHIELD CUSTODES comes to the side of the guardsmen and proclaims he must protect this man as he is destined to be of great importance.
Who has the higher authority? Will they fight over their objectives? Who makes it out alive? Is anyone here potentially branded a Heretic or Traitor?
Why do my nuts exclusively itch when i'm in public-
To be fair it is a lot harder to replace space marines compared to guardsmen as horrible as that is to say.
ОтветитьThe imperium really needs technology. With the guidance of the emperor, or at least what remains of him, surely they won't degenerate into a second dark age
ОтветитьDifferent being
One can easily be given a gun and some training
While the others takes decades just to get become a scout and another few decades to become a marine
Maybe it's true in a lore or books, but in a game 1 space marine ~ 4 guardsmen
ОтветитьGotta love how chaos wouldnt be as much of an issue if the emperor just said to teach the common man if chaos cause the only way to fight it is to understand it but no the old raisin had to give a few special boys V I B E S and then peace out
ОтветитьIn the army now is the most underrated sabaton song
ОтветитьName of song?
ОтветитьRedditors are so cringe
Ответить250.000 for a hill nobody cares about?!
Man, their general must have gotten a medal for keeping casualties down like that...
It's called Warhammer 40K because that's the average amount of Guardsmen you'll lose every battle.
ОтветитьI mean, it takes years just to create a Space Marine and decades to train him up to full lethality. With guardsmen you just give them a uniform, a gun and send them off on their merry way.
ОтветитьThere is a piece of lore that said it's common to not even bother reporting Guard casualties because the total of all the lost lives in a battle is often worth literally less than paper it would be written on.
Ответитьone marine per planet so it is pretty fair to me
Ответить97% mortality rate in mission
Imperium: VICTORY BROTHERS
A Warhammer meme with a Sabaton cover song at the end
Beautiful
The Roman army is often credited as the cornerstone of wave tactics. Their cohorts were arranged in a way where waves of troops ebbed between selectively arranged groups and the mass bulk of enlisted recruits, slowly introducing stronger and stronger forces to wear down the opposition before having their elites bring the hammer down.
But the Romans didn’t have techno hulks with artillery pistols, these are not wave tactics this is population control.
A vacation in a foreign land
Uncle Sam does the best he can
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now
Now you remember what the draftsman said
Nothing to do all day but stay in bed
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now
You'll be the hero of the neighbourhood
Nobody knows that you left for good
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now
Smiling faces as you wait to land
But once you get there no one gives a damn
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now
Hand grenades flying over your head
Missile rounds flying over your head
If you want to survive get out of bed
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now
Shots ring out in the dead of night
The sergeant calls (Stand up and fight)
You're in the army now
Oh, oh, you're in the army now
You're in the army now

You've got your orders better shoot on sight
Your finger's on the trigger
But it don't seem right
