The way Joe treats Gerry makes me hella mad. I can't imagine how much patience Gerry has to keep up with Joe's treatment lol

The bantering is funny... sometimes. Tho I'v to admit if my granpa is like that to my dad, I would definitely hate my granpa a lot. I will definitely protect my dad from all the verbals abuse.

So something I just noticed about the show is how they show parallels between each generation. Erin and her friends are basically copies of their parents. So the same would go for Mary, Sarah and their mom. The reason I mention all this is because Joe and the girls refer to their mom as perfect, so I'm thinking Mary must be like her mom in that regard and that's the ONLY reason why Gerry would put up with Joe for as long as he has. Mary must be an angel to him.

Gerry is quite simply a masterclass in tolerance, restraint, resilience and acceptance.
