AirPods Max 2: What To Expect

I'm really excited about the updates coming to the AirPods Max! The switch from Lightning to USB-C is a fantastic move, making it so much easier to use a single cable for all my devices. The new colors and enhanced features from the H2 chip, like personalized volume and conversation awareness, sound like great improvements too.

However, I'm disappointed that they're sticking with Bluetooth 5.3. While it's the latest version, I believe a proprietary 2.4 GHz wireless technology could offer an even better experience. It would likely provide better battery life and superior audio quality. It feels like a missed opportunity for Apple to push the envelope further in wireless audio technology.

It would be really cool if Apple started using 2.4 GHz technology for their ecosystem's benefit. I know it would break compatibility, but Apple has done this before, like when they moved to USB-C and phased out USB-A ports on Macs. Why not do the same here for a much better experience?

I have Airpods Max and honestly the anc is pretty bad compared to airpods pro 2. I just hope they fix that

At least the headband could be used with the same material used for the apple vision. And as for the case, I hope they do a whole case not just an alien bra looking thing.

These are all really minor updates to a crazy expensive pair of headphones. What they really should do is enable Lossless playback over wireless, even if they need to develop a new wireless protocol to do it. Apple Music already has lossless music, but what is the point when their devices lack headphone jacks?
And if they are too timid to truly innovate to enable this (or to even catch up to competitors on this), they could at least enable lossless audio playback over the USB-C cable as an option. I’d be in the market for Max 2’s if they did this

I think Apple will replace Space Gray with Space Black for the AirPods Max. Space Black has became the new pro color for Apple.

It would be nice if you could plug them in to your Mac or iPad in a wired mode so that there’s no latency when using apps like Garage Band or Logic. Obviously wireless is better most of the time but there are a few situations where wired headphones are necessary.

Meh... I'll stick to my Beyer Dynamic Amiron Cooper. Those are true high-end headphones.

The 1st gen are too heavy, and have below average sound. It doesn't exactly inspire me to buy them again.

What to expect? An unnecessary price increase with little upgrade 😂

After more than three years of daily driving max 1s, I'd hope for the following
-Improved headband – the mesh stretches out over time, concentrating the weight on the two supports which can become uncomfortable
-Wireless charging – USB C is cool and all but I want the option to just set them on a charger
-Redesigned case – the current case is not ideal in many ways. I only use the case when traveling, which leads into the next point
-Improved stand-by mode – I don't want to be forced to use the case every time I take them just so the battery doesn't drain for hours

If they want to improve battery life, they could try to include and on/off switch. Stupid that these slowly die from the day they are made and there is no way to slow it down.

lol my guess is that Apple will ship the AirPods Max with a minor improved Case and sell another Pro Case extra. Or it doesn't even comes with a case (like the Apple Vision Pro) and you have to buy one separately.
