Pit is disabled, he doesn’t have the ability to fly unless given by the Goddess. He can glide, but not fly. His whole story is that all the people and the goddess, Palutena (the woman you see in the beginning) of Angel Land were taken by Medusa to the Underworld. He was spared out of pity, and through many brutal attempts, managed to get to Medusa and defeat her.

I dont like fighting games. So i had a similar reaction playing this game's story mode first time. I ended up going through, and playing alot of the characters introduced's respective games after.
