I'm trying to find one that i can click on my rifle. And take it off to share. That is at a budget price.
ОтветитьIn Germany we say "Wärmebild findet, Nachtsicht bindet"
"Thermal finds, Nightvision binds"
well done man, SUBBED!
ОтветитьI will agree to disagree on that 1. I have mounted to a bump helmet. and I prefer it over my pvs 14. But I'm also using it for Coyote hunting And if you have the setting correctly where it finds the hotspots anything 200 yd it's going to find it.. Something I just purchased running into its paces but the things that I'm finding it's amazing for the price point. I own 3 night vision scopes . A PVS14 in white phosphorus That's $2400 right there . And a Is ATN Thor LT 4x8 And it is kicking the c*** out of It thermal wise . For spotting and then getting onto it with your night vision it's the way to go 100% for entry product
Ответить@Hoplopfheil Check out the LAHOUX SPOTTER S, it is only a little more expensive then the ASP Micro TM-160, but the stats looks to be twice as good and in a small package, please get one and do a review...
ОтветитьI'm pretty disappointed that you didn't mention any of the 256 by 192 Thermo monoculars that seem to be for sale for anywhere between around 500 to $700 and I think even same company as the one that yours was from had 14 around 600-700 dollars and the one that you showed me the video they had for around 350 $400 currently I think
Ответить"ran"
ОтветитьHow much price tell me the link
ОтветитьGreat stream. A urologist would approve
ОтветитьProximity sensors or give up your position strobe lights... Wouldn't surprise me a bit if that's the real reason they put them in our phones.
Ответитьcongratulations on your very stable urine stream
ОтветитьTbh you could probably 3D a brace for it and use it like nods
ОтветитьLol, "if you try to walk around using only a thermocular you will most likey break an ankle".
Lol, or get smacked and scratched by tree branches since this thermal has no night vision setting.
Notice how it works much better when its tilted up? Mine does that too . Has to be a defect .
ОтветитьBought one. Low effective range, around 50 feet. Can detect further , but not effectively .
Cool device to buy, play with, resell, and upgrade.
For 400 bucks, if you use it to find a downed deer or elk it has proven its worth. Nothing worse than losing wounded game at last light.
ОтветитьI own one and I've moved on to a dedicated weaponsight which can be used for multiple purposes.
ОтветитьHealthy stream.
ОтветитьI had use such devices when protected Kyiv from russians. Because we had no other devices. You cannot walk with thermals, especially in forest. Always someone had to hold a man with thermal and lead him. But, in tranches thermals work well. Some times it detects glass as warm objects. In some conditions we couldn't recognise real distance to object. So, i think that better to have both termal and night vision.
ОтветитьFYI The AGM ASP is worthless over 90 degrees Fahrenheit (gotta love nighttime lows of 80 plus). The colder the night the more this thing works, but that might be obvious. Any rate I love mine.
Ответить$1500 to look for cats in the neighborhood? Sold!
ОтветитьOnce you learn how to use a thermal, fusion and jungle modes will make more sense
ОтветитьI'm still wondering if there's a dumb way to rig it to a rifle anyway, thermal scopes understandably but stupid expensive
ОтветитьI have the FLIR TK SCOUT. I like it. serves it"s purpose.
ОтветитьI’m so glad I stumbled onto your channel you should have way more subs than you do
ОтветитьI like your review, pretty thorough. Late for the party here.
Ответитьlocating a fresh carcass in thick brush would be a good use for one of these. you can see alot from 20 ft up a tree, but once your on the ground you can walk right past a dead deer. If you lung shot one they don't leave much blood, or if you shoot one in the rain, it can wash away the blood. if the animal runs through standing water, even if it's only an inch deep, they won't leave a blood trail. Over the years i've had 3 deer that i haven't recovered. All 3 were due to weather preventing or washing out a blood trail. 2 were bucks that i found the blood, but it was washed away/covered before i could fully track the deer. neither was a perfect hit, one was paunch shot, and the other was a lung hit. The third was a doe, and she ran through a wetland area that had about 2 inches of water standing everywhere, so there was no blood trail at all. I spent hours looking for all of them. we did eventually find the doe, but it was several weeks later.
ОтветитьUse case scenario: Helmet mount is out of the question, but what about mounting it to a paintball gun as a cheap thermal scope? - does it see IR Lasers? I'm thinking no by the video but I couldn't tell
ОтветитьHOP!! Didn’t know you had a channel outside TFB. Love your content, looking forward to future vids.
I have the Scout; I like it but don’t really have a basis for comparison. I 3D printed a mount for it which is marginally functional
You know, you have a specific use case for night vision devices, and don't see the benefit to other people. This thermal device, to me, seems ideal for checking the dark areas of my large yard at night for animals or miscreants. And as far as the mode with the colors in it, it's handy for differentiating between temperatures for diagnosing component issues in electronics. It's easier for people to discern differences in color than shades of grey.
As far as your use case goes, though, you seem spot on.
Great Job Mr Hop! Really helpful summary of thermal pros and cons and of this device in particular! Good, job, thanks Kindly!
ОтветитьI bought a 1/4 inch camera picatinny rail mount for this monocular. If you put it in between your irons and have a cold/hot weapon and go to the inverse outside, it will pick up the silhouette of the front nicely but the viability is very poor.
Ответитьtitle is misleading. thermal devices are digital. thermal devices are IR devices just in higher band of IR spectrum.
Ответитьprice?
Ответитьwhy are these things so expensive but not good at all?
Ответить👍
ОтветитьA really useful thing to use budget thermal stuff for is to look at your electrical wiring in your home for hot spots. Sometimes in older homes your outlet could be getting too hot due to a poor connection or corrosion on the contacts, lets you see if there is a brewing issue before it becomes a fire hazard. Also, quite useful in chasing down pluming leaks if you have one.
ОтветитьSo, I can use this to spot Bigfoot taking a big piss in the woods. Sweet.
ОтветитьMounts to my Airsoft helmet 🥸
ОтветитьStill struggling to see how these are comparable at all. The aurora can view terrain infinitely provided you have moonlight or illumination. The thermal monocular only picks up heat signatures and the terrain and definition is terrible
ОтветитьThank you for all the good no nonsense reviews. Really helps compare.
ОтветитьGreat flow.. lmfao, nice stream. As I'm getting older I'm finding that something to appreciate 😂
ОтветитьSome of the higher end digital thermal is actually very good. Sig now makes a digital thermal riflescope, and there's a few other companies doing so as well. Digital thermal has the advantage of being able to gather from a much wider electromagnetic spectrum than digital nightvision so it doesn't suffer the slow amplification and processing times, and will spot targets in a zero light environment. And, as you can see, even with this cheap stuff you still have enough contrast to see terrain and other things crucial to navigation. So we're right on the cusp of a revolution, where traditional nightvision will be superseded, at least in civilian use, by much more versatile digital thermal for less money. Higher end digital thermal also doesn't really care how far away the target is; if it's emitting heat, you WILL see it even if it's not visible on traditional nightvision.
ОтветитьRoughly what was the outdoor temperature when you did your tests?
ОтветитьExcellent review.
ОтветитьPerfectly suits my need of threat detection at night. Will assess urine detection after purchase.
ОтветитьSame as hik micro to me👍
Ответитьhow long does the battery charge last?
ОтветитьI got one of these for free with a thermal scope. Its pretty rad for the price point, but once you use a better thermal, you'll really wish you'd spent atleast $800 more for a 340.
