Sony A95K vs. LG G2 | QD-OLED vs. OLED | Which TV is better?

Hey everyone! I was gonna do the usual “hey, what do you think?” comment, but y’all are coming through with awesome comments already! Love the discussion on these two amazing TVs. And also digging your choices for movies/scenes to show off TV performance. Should I consider doing a video on best movies/scenes to test/show-off your TV? That might be a nightmare to skirt copyright flags, but I’d at least consider it if demand were high enough.

Considering the LG is about £800 cheaper than the Sony right now I think this is a no brainer

I bought the Sony, because i had a burn in, in my LG OLED, one month after the warranty expired. Never gonna buy LG products again, since their customer service also wasn't able to help me in this regard. Hoping the new technology will diminish the risk of a burn in. Pretty Happy so far with the overall quality of the a95k

Hello everyone, I recently bought a brand new G2 77 inch for 3000 euros, I'm from Bucharest, Romania, I got it at a big discount because the new g3 series is coming out, the TV is amazing, PC games, 4k movies and netflix are amazing on this TV, who still needs sony in these conditions, their products are very expensive; even when a new series comes out, they are just as expensive, I don't understand but I don't care its their loss, I am very happy with the choice I made, bravo LG, you are always closer to the average consumer and offer decent prices on top models at certain times of the year

and the 75 inch SonyZ9K mini led which would you chose and why please help I am stuck on my decision

What to choose?
I have a Samsung KS8000 4k LED TV and its time for me to upgrade to an OLED. I definitely want my TV wall mounted with as sleek a look as possible (like the G2) but I also reaaaaally want the Sony processor as I’ve heard it’s incredible for movie-watching. Should I choose the G2 or the A95k? Price and gaming aren’t important factors. 😅

I bought G2 and it’s absolutely incredible. Picture feels like it can’t get better. Amazing detail and motion.

LG G3 is what I want

You must admit, the "It should have reduced risk of burn in or image retention because of the way it operates its less likely to be a problem" did not age well about the QD-OLEDS...

I ended up getting the LG G2 and I have been blown away with it 🤯

But the a95k ISN'T OLED!!! I just saw one!! Its mini LED!

This is the best picture you've ever seen? Then you've never seen Panasonic LZ2000 because it is even more accurate. 💀

For me personaly LG is far better choice here. Sony faild and i have feeling that this comperaing is paid by Sony.
Samsung is pain in the eyes, pain for pocket with tech fails, which was surprising. I hope so that they will prove their worda with new models 2023

The Sony interface is horrible and doesn’t like other products. The LG is brilliant and is probably the the best tv on the market .

After watching your videos I went with the A95k 65" for the PQ and it's great but the lack of 2.1 inputs is a bummer. I'm not a gamer but if you want your fire tv cube, sound bar and your 4k ultra hd blu ray player you're SOL. Seriously thinking about returning my A95k for the G2.

The only issue is NO room for my center channel

Does anyone make a stand for it that will give me the approx 4-5 inches raise that I require?

i don't mind wobbly as i live alone and the tv is in a zero-traffic location

Does Sony A95K have USB 3 ports that I can use for data/my USB sticks with movies and videos?

My 930c does, but it is a very sloppy software implementation

It’s crazy how there’s a 1,500 price difference between these two models. Sony loves to overcharge imo.

What about in SDR? From the reviews I've seen that actually do out of the box (and even calibrated) measurements there's no difference between the two technologies. I should point out that over here in the UK we have the benefit of having Panasonic OLED's available which are measureably more colour accurate than the LG (or any other brand) out of the box. Anyway, in SDR mode is there any benefit at all in terms of picture quality to QD OLED over WRGB OLED?
By the way, as a big fan of space films even the slightest raising of blacks (particularly near black graduation) would bother me.

You can tell this guy is hung up on the “Sony” brand.

The price is for sure the biggest deciding factor. The Sony is clearly the better TV if both of these were free. Which means I’m just going to be very sad when I fork out the cash for the Sony A95K. Im still going to get it over any of the competition, it’s just that I’m not going to be happy about it.

Am I the only one who thinks motion processing is one of the most important factors?

My Sony has many problems yes it's a few years old but it was a top model. My LG is cheaper has free channels and great picture.

All LG products are garbage. No wonder the LG craps are the cheapest, I have a LG 75” TV and in less than 4 yrs. it’s already got a dark streak running down middle of the screen. I had a LG phone once and the phone froze and lost all my Pics, data and only had that for less than a year and their customer service is no help. It took 3 weeks to replace that phone and I traded that garbage ASAP for a Samsung. I Googled those products and come to find out lot of folks had the same issues. Just Garbage products. TV, get either Samsung or Sony, in fact no name cheap brand TV is better than LG.

Qd-OLED only comes in 65 inch and 55 inch models from both Samsung and Sony. 77 inch is the start for any legit setup. The LG-G2 77 inch the way to go.

Casual gamer..movie watcher=Sony. Competitive gamer=PC

I love the stunning picture of OLED. My concern is burn in especially with station identifications or info bars at bottom like news or sports. Is this a problem over time or has this been licked? If it is still a high concern then I might go with mini LED but they have blooming effects and possibly stuttering panning. Lastly OLED would have diminishing returns on image quality after lets say 5-6 years does it hold up or yeah time to replace? Great reviews thanks.

I like the lower price of the G2 but the stand on that TV worries me. I guess I would go with the A95 K for that reason.
