Are there many words that are complicated in other languages but are very short in German? It seems like they wanted to smash all of the verbs, nouns and adjectives into one word to be difficult. Like fixing their cars.

If you translate a cetain phrase in the germanic languages like dutch and german it sounds like english the phrase that im talking about is this "The cold winter is near, a snowstorm will come. Come in my warm house,

I actually knew the Cinderella one. I had a copy of The Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales as a kid, and Cinderella in the book was called Aschenputtel.
