For those who've never played Honkai Star Rail, here's the meaning behind the song lyrics:
The Xianzhou were a massive and ambitious civilization. They sought immortality and left their home planet to explore the universes. After a long search, they eventually found what they were looking for and they were granted the gift of immortality by a god. At first the Xianzhou celebrated but as the centuries passed, they realized this was a curse after all. People eventually lost their humanity and went mad. There was a shortage of food, places to live, and too many people populating society. Eventually, another god had come to rescue them from this bane. The Xianzhou were able to return to mortality once again with a new loyalty to this heroic god who reversed their curse.

Now that you have an idea of the lore, here's what my song is about~
Part 1 describes their pursuit of immortality before they crossed the path of Abundance (immortality). Driven by a fierce motive, the Xianzhou pushed to extend life in order to experience the good parts of the human experience forever - such as honor and love.
Part 2 describes their circumstances after crossing The Abundance. Living forever brought nothing but pain, and constant life actually diminished what they originally sought.
Part 3 describes the new sense of joy the Xianzhou felt when The Hunt freed them from their curse. Life regained meaning & they achieved a new sense of purpose.

I really enjoyed writing this song. To me it's more like story-telling in the form of singing instead of talking so I hope the lyrics and melody make you feel a sense of joy, doom, and hope during all 3 parts ♥
