Why Genshin gets Worse the more you play | Tectone Reacts

Like I would appreciate the ability so speed through the text or make the text filing instant. Like it s fuckin when character stopped talking already but the text is still filling.

Just to clarify : Honkai impact 3rd story > Honkai star rail story > Genshin impact story

The point is the bloat

The story and pacing of honkai is so good that even when i'm planning to skip dialogs of the side quests to get the gems, i end up sometimes actually reading it

They just said the things I want to say about Genshin. From the start, I hate the pacing of the story and too much exposition. I like the gameplay but the lack of end-game content is just frustrating. Also, Hu-Tao with no C1 unlocked is indeed a pain-in-the-ass.

I agree with so much of this, but what really bothers me is the timegated and limited event content. Like, no wonder the base game doesn't reflect the amount of money that goes into it (let alone what it makes) in terms of relative quality, all those resources sunk into disposable content which adds nothing long term to the game and limits draw for new players, meanwhile corners still get cut all over the place in places that matter.

The lore is great but the story telling is AWFUL

I'm falling off really bad dude. I hate that feeling of "ok I have to farm mora and materials for the upcoming ascension for my established team since months before because god knows I ain't got materials for switching anyone." And I find it so weird that the problem... is the open world. I don't mind leylines or ascension/artifact grinds but GOD DAMN why do I need 60 fucking random flowers to ascend? It feels so AWFUL to know I have to run those routes just to grab shit every couple of days. Monster drops? Well, let's do a trip around the world for them. It genuinenly overwhelms me.

HSR is made by the same company and it baffles me. I have 2 different teams on my current lvl cap, there's no need for random garbage that respawns after two days. I already pre farmed ascension materials for 1 team and almost all for the second. Monster drops are so abundant it never feels tedious when I suddenly need some.

I want to enjoy genshin for the world I've heard on Necrit's video but it feels so bad when during MSQ I'm actively spamming space bar and wishing for a skip button. Conversation just drag on and on and on and on. It's a problem I feel on Star Rail too but... well, there's no Paimon there at the very least.

Guess I gotta follow Necrit now because even as a new player to the game he sees it all.

Well not that I wanna defend it but the reason some people don't notice the "bad pacing" is because there are people, like me, that enjoy these filler quests and that kind of stuff. Do I think it should be main quests? Hell nah, other people are annoyed AF by that shit. Do I think paimons dialogue could be cut by 70%? Hell yeah, easily. Only because I am fine with it does not mean I think it's good, simply for other people sake. Like come on hoyo, make all that filler stuff into sidequests so I can enjoy that and others don't have to suffer through it!

Bro Tectone is an anomaly sometimes how he's so desperate to jump from one polar opinion to another. Like it seems he does in fact like HSR, but the story in that game was only a couple tiers better than Genshins, which is perhaps one of the worst pieces of consumable media that's ever been dragged out this long. Pretending as if he could've cared about the Inazuma story as well, like man your allowed to say something isn't either utter dookie or immaculate, personally I think Inazuma was a garbled mess of mostly off screen, intangible dross that never circled round to being material, it had some semblant stakes but you never cared bc you had no attachment to what was happening.

if they removed the filler quests, the timegating, the dialogues filled with fluff Genshin would last 20 hours TOPS. But is a gacha and they gotta inflate the lifespan of the game beyond absurdity, that's why we'll never have a skip button. While they talk usually i do house chores, click randomly when an answer has to be given, then do more chores or go to the grocery store. Not that the player's choice matters anyway. Same goes for HSR. On last note: Fontaine so called "archon quest" forced plenty of characters into the story. The so called "investigation" was half tribunal BS debate and half navia whining about her dead father and repeating the same stuff in loop. Absolute waste of time, no progression, boring. But on positive side...i will skip Navia and genshin Asta so hard!

maybe im the only one but i actually enjoyed the times when screen went black with text appearing cause it reminded me of the forest of myth and when they told kaine's and emil's stories in nier replicant
