Nothing beats actually seeing your books side by side and expanding your collection. Physical books are the way to go. I only read online if i cant find the book i want to buy in person. I like seeing them all and picking one, feels like a personal library. Plus it takes you away from what could have been yet another device.

I feel weird commenting twice. If e reading is maybe something you’re not interested in. Don’t, you’ll end up like me. I listen to my books now. It’s funny. It used to be something to an accomplish reading so many books a year. Maybe it’s just how my brain works but 400 books a year is kind of embarrassing.

For the Christmas movie my favorite is this one on Disney + it’s called Noell! And it’s so good

idk if this is the same as an e-reader but i used to read on my ipad and personally i would never replace physical books for any technology. for me, i feel more accomplished, productive, and satisfied reading physical books. plus, it minimizes my screen time and avoids the strain a screen puts on my eyes

every time i read an ebook and enjoy it i am filled with the strongest desire to have a paper copy to put in my trophy case AHEM on my bookshelf. Which basically just means I pay for the book twice. Paper books all the way!!

My fave is A Christmas Carol with Alistair Simms in black and white. Next is It's A Wonderful Life. Prefer books to e-readers. Something special about having a book to hold, smell, the way it feels. Technology is cold and flat. Books are living beings of their own. Drift goes weeeeeee on the ice 😅

Concerning e-readers: how much do you travel or read on-the-go? 'Cause that's what swung it for me - I would read on the bus to and from uni. My e-reader was far more portable than the thick fantasy books I like to read, plus I could put academic papers on it which saved on so much paper. Now that I'm home most of the time, and no longer reading articles, I gravitate towards physical books (when I'm not reading fanfic on my phone). Speaking of fanfic, AO3 lets you download fics in ebook format that you can load onto an e-reader, so that's cool. Plus, as I get older, I do like the ability to increase the font size when my eyes are tired.

For context i read 10 books a week as a child/teen, i read the entire fantasy and sci-fi collection my local library had; I love to read, always read books.

I got mine back when kindle didn't have a back light, that's a pain, I modified one of those book light clips you were talking about with tape to only let a pinprick of light through to be able to read around sleeping people and not bother them (insomnia woo), but I still read on it(or the phone app tbh) a tonne, especially when I found out I could download fanfic as pdfs and read those on the kindle (you get to sound very pretentious too😅 reading self published stories by independent authors)

Long time watcher, but never commenter. I LOVE my kindle. $12 a month for kindle unlimited, and you can read most titles, for the price of less than 1 book a month. I still read physical books, but its more convenient to be able to read on your kindle (or phone) and it saves your space. easier and more convenient to read in public if you dont want to have to carry a book around

I listen to audio books. Sometimes I read physical books with the books I listen to sometimes i read books on kindle while I listen find audio book. Other times I just listen to the book and don’t read it at all it all depends on what you feel is most enjoyable for you. edit I have to add. I think this is my favorite long play build from you I’ve ever watched. I love this one so much! Definitely fit my Christmas vibe. 🎄

I love building these kind of cabins <3 I used this frame to make a chicken coop, with a deepslate trim, acacia roof and calcite walls and fell in love with it forever.

my personal favourite christmas movie is The Muppets Christmas Carol! it's such a nice blend of silly and heartfelt, and it's a surprisingly accurate adaptation of the book! I always get 'It Feels Like Christmas' stuck in my head every December lmao

also yes with e-reader you can just read any book, but having physical books and just enjoy those turning pages and feeling paper 😩😩 nothing can be better that this. good to just have both

I haven't watched too many Christmas movies admittedly but I love Polar Express! It's memed on for it's uncanny art style but I loved it as a kid.

I love my kindle! I've had one since around 2009. I have so many books that I'd have to make my own library. My partner doesn't have one though. Buying a used one for cheap is a good test run.

My fav Christmas movie is definitely 'it's a wonderful life' it's an old black and white movie but it's a Christmas tradition in my family (going for 3 generations now) to watch it every Christmas. I think that's mostly because I come from a family of union workers and the movie is essentially a more working class pov of a Christmas Carol. I'm not able to be with family this year but I'ma do my best to find that old gem, highly recommend it's a wonderful life to anyone interested, it's a great watch.

Also, I agree 100%, Home Alone 2 is better than the first movie!

I despised my kindle. Miss the nook. But I've been using my Amazon fire tablet the most. It is dangerous as Amazon has stuff your kindle days where there are hundreds of new books for free. It has forever extended my tbr. But I love the ability to read a book on the e reader and if I love it, purchase the physical book as like a trophy. I never thought I'd read as many e books as I do. I am also a physical book girl.
