ОтветитьI have been listening to you for the past week! I love your videos! You’ve revived my love for game of those! And you got a like for that old Nan impression! 😂
ОтветитьI started watching this playlist (I rewatch your content) and I just wanted to say how MUCH I enjoyed seeing Old Nan! That was a very clever and entertaining, not to mention hysterical bit I had forgotten. This is the perfect video to start a playlist.
Ответитьi want to argue the old lady so i didnt like or subscribe.. lol... yet around forest trees magic mushrooms develop.....
ОтветитьI just reread the book i should reread the world book too
ОтветитьYou connected Robert killing Rhaegar to the Hammer of the Waters but what about the prophecy from F&B? Would that parallel actually mean the Hammer of the Waters was used to destroy a society of dragon men (GEotD) and replace them with horned men (FM)?
ОтветитьI love robert baratheon hes one of my favorite characters
ОтветитьWonderful
ОтветитьSo you’re telling me that there’s a race of men than seem to show characteristics of Children of the Forest and that they showed up after a pact between the First Men and the CotF? Mmm wonder what kind of “activities” were part of that pact 😂
Also if “Weirwood seeds” are Jojen Paste… then Garth is definitely using the blood of greenseers to plant those trees
Also what if that whole Garth planting the threes is First Men BS to justify chopping them down? Like we got this group of children complaining about the men cutting their sacred trees and the men were like well they’re not your trees, they were planted by our ancestor so we can do whatever we want with them.
A comment. An offer to the Algodrithm!
ОтветитьThe font you used on the first picture makes it obvious how Earth could be related to Garth.
ОтветитьI know a man who drank so much carrot juice he turned orange, and I decided to drink enough wheat grass juice to turn myself green.
I also read about a boy who turned green from exposure to too much silver...
Because of grr martins love of the number 7 i have a theory there is actually 7 races. Men, children, greenmen, giants, dragons. Dont know what the other two are
Edit to add fishpeople
Algorithm
ОтветитьRewatch binge 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
ОтветитьThe question is: is Garth Green Man?
ОтветитьThe Old Nan bit lmfao
ОтветитьOne of my all time favs of your vids, Ser : )
ОтветитьFor the algorithm
ОтветитьSo the Green men may have held a maester-like position in early Westeros and were later supplanted by them..? Interesting
ОтветитьGoin back through the catalog, and I just have to say… Praise Garth for David Lightbringer
ОтветитьOld nan and Bobby B. 😂😂
ОтветитьWait ... Doesnt cold hands ride an elk? Maybe he's a frozen Green man
ОтветитьI wonder if there's a deeper connection to the Green Men with Renly.
Like, I know his armor is green for Loras and antlered because he's a Baratheon...
...but it's still Green and Antlered.
And the Baratheons weren't the original stag lords, they stole the lands and motifs three hundred years ago.
Nitpick: as a Celtic deity, Cernunos should be pronounced with a hard C, not a soft C. There is no soft C in the Gaelic tongues.
ОтветитьGod's wood... yeah that sounds like a name George rr Martin would give something.
ОтветитьSo underrated
ОтветитьGarth (gardd) is Welsh for "garden". In fact, it is an Indo-European cognate of garden, garten, jardin, etc. So the name Garth means gardener. One would expect that a gardener with green hands (i.e. no just a green thumb) would be able to make things really grow and so the legend is passed down that the founder of Highgarden was good at tilling the soil. But, I suspect that the green hands refer to the leaves of a weirwood, and that Garth Greenhand was actually a tree. A tree that was sacred to the Children of the Forrest and, maybe, the early First Men whose worship of the tree made their lands fertile.
ОтветитьFun Fact: There is a Tolkien scholar named John Garth.
ОтветитьAnother clue: At the Tourney of Harenhall, Lyanna Stark disguised herself as the Knight of the Laughing Tree. But where in Westeros has anyone seen a tree laughing. Could it be that the weirwoods formerly had smiling faces and green, hand-shaped leaves? And how would Lyanna know this? Did she have some green dream? Was she a a potential three-eyed crow? Did she visit the Isle of Faces and do the weirwood trees there still smile? I believe the faces on the Isle Thereof are faces carved on weirwood trees, and that the Isle is a bit of Westeros preserved in its ancient era. Howland Reed apprenticed there and Lyanna invited him to her family tent and, later, championed his cause. Lyanna and Aegon were married on the Isle of Faces, and then Howland Reed and Eddard Stark became close friends. I think they all knew something that was not disclosed; and Benjen Stark also knew so he joined the Night's Watch. And what tragedy caused the weirwoods to now cry? I think the tragedy was the hammer that broke the arm of Dorne, and separated Westeros from Essos, both physically and spiritually.
ОтветитьI loves when in the other video you read the Part about Leng which pushed to go and read the kdath story.
ОтветитьThere's so much coincidence it can't be coincidence. . .like when the men of the nights watch killed John Kennedy.
John SNOW.
Your old nan is very South Park esque 😂
ОтветитьHas anyone made a connection that cold hands might be Garth…a man with green hands that was killed and reanimated by the children…until his hands went black over time. At the very least a green man….they ride elks I mean all the clues are there.
Ответитьthat QANON Green Seer got sent to the Night's Watch
ОтветитьLML forever having the best promos. "their chrystaline ovipositers" 😭
ОтветитьI think the first time I heard the word "weir" was while living in Scotland, and I believe it was described as that kind of fish catching "dam." Like a filter feeder. I'm just starting to read the books but saying that the "weir wood" is a "filter feeder" along the river of life seems interesting.
I was in an area known to have had viking raids on the West Coast near Largs, which makes me also think of the words' origins going back to old Norse, I think.
Well we saw a green man in HOTD S2E8, how random
ОтветитьSo based on the season finale of season 2 of House of the Dragon, the Green Men also have hooves. So they're more of a Pan-like creature.
ОтветитьBoo ya
ОтветитьWatching this video and the ones associated with it in preparation for the green man video you were talking about!!!
ОтветитьGreen hands... connection to cold hands?
ОтветитьThe weir wood trees catch souls in the flow of time thus collecting the souls of all beings and their history within their godwood. Woah.
ОтветитьI want to watch your videos but your extra personality loses me as does how long your videos are. I mean I’m sure you don’t care it just sucks because I would like to watch.
ОтветитьYou know, Garth the Green sounds a lot like IRL to how the celtic tribes of britian, scotland and ireland and wales and a lot in europe of how they had these stories of gods or powerful beings, but over time their significance in their culture was downplayed over time. Like how some gods in ireland and britian became mere forest spirits, saints or kings. Like how in Welsh mythology, the God Arawn was downgraded into just being a fey king of a fictional kingdom, when in more older sources, he was the god of death and the underwolf in Wales
As such Garth the Green kind of experiences this in the story, going from this ancient green man who is worshipped like a god, into just being a argicultural king of the Reach
Love the Old Nan and Robert bit, that was stellar writing and performance. 😂😂 praising Garth in my own way before work here, this was a perfect length video for the ritual. 💚
ОтветитьLet me praise Garth
ОтветитьGarth be good
ОтветитьI’m never not down for Old Nan
