I used to think there could be a special after Paul Eddington died, with Sir Humphrey and Bernard meeting at or after the funeral of the PM, with shenanigans and skullduggery to follow, of course!
Though all three of these wonderful actors are now gone, at least we can still enjoy their work and the great scripts which made this such a terrific show.

I'd far rather have these people in government than any of the ne'r do wells we've got at present (2012 - 23). At least they understand the concept of 'public service'.

Honestly, the series was both informative and entertaining.
Wonderful cast, wonderful script.
I just find myself wanting to go over the scenes again and again.

Brilliant show and cast

Actually Sir Humphrey telling the PM he lied was also laying upon the English language an error. To be a lie the speaker must know it was untrue. So while Hacker did not tell the truth, and indeed misled Parliament, he did not tell a lie as he thought it was the truth.

I wonder how many " tapes" are hanging around in real life?

This is the perfect ending for the series: The Rt. Hon. James Hacker has become an impersonation of Sir Humphrey, but now on the most exalted stage in the United Kingdom.

although this is a comedy series about a buffoon who by some extreme stroke of luck is now running the country, jim hacker would still be a better prime minister than most of the real one`s that we have to put up with these days.

After 3 years of authoritarian govt in West... this is NOT funny.

That wasn't the last episode of Yes Prime Minister, Its an episode of Yes Minister.

It still, to me, seems to sit in a grey area between satire and documentary.
Brilliant in any case.

Funny how this mirrors what happens in the States...especially with the likes of Donald t’Rump, Kevin McCarthy, Lindsey Graham, and the most outrageous of all, George Santos—or whatever his lying-ass name is. Lord love a duck.

These days referring someone to a speech you made on a certain date would be political suicide

Watching Yes, PM should be mandatory for all children 16 years old.

Me, I was a bit younger when I saw it, and I thought it was a weekly documentary.

The saddest part of watching these brilliant programs is that nothing has changed except that politicians are even more inept and the bureaucrats do not have Sir Humphrey’s skills. Nobody writes like this anymore.

The ability to be truthful unless it impacts ones career or reputation is superb comedy, a great piece 😬

40 odd years later, practically everything in this series is still relevant. One of those rare moments where writing, acting, direction and chemistry come together perfectly. My favourite sitcom. Thank you to all who made this possible.

Sad that, around 35 years on, this show remains almost as topical and devastatingly accurate as it was when first broadcast.

Sir Humphrey should know that an interesting interview can only be a bomb.

Sadly the last four Governments have demonstrated far more incompetence and corruption than the 'Yes Prime Minister' scriptwriters could ever have imagined.

This was a wonderful comedy classic all of them fantastic actor's who are sadly missed a masterpiece in every way GREAT, WONDERFUL, BRILLIANT.

Maybe he hasn't heard, you live in abject poverty, on eighty one thousand pounds a year....😁
