Have you ever thought about putting the dresser in the closet? I’ve done that and it has always worked out especially in a small space.

For the closets, there are hangers that can hang things vertically. If that makes sense.

Hi why don’t let the girls have master bedroom. That will fit three beds. Your room only needs to sleep you. Could get a small double bed.

My suggestion would be to down size your bed and go to the room your going to put the girls in your only one person and put the girls in your room. Giving them ample space for beds and play.

2nd comment, if you do get bunk beds, you could put two sets of bedding on the bed, as long as you have waterproof sheets, none rustling ones so noise doesn’t bother them. That way if they have any accident, you just strip off the top set, throw it in the washer and child gets back into bed. Just a thought x

Jamie, the cupboard when you first come in that you’re using for storage, why don’t you put some coat hooks, shelving or shelving and baskets for the coats, backpacks, hats, gloves, scarves etc. They would all be hidden. You could also get shoe rack in there too. It seems such a great space. Hope you all enjoy this new space for as long as you need to x

You are so organised ... and so clever to get out of your expensive mortgage and buy again when rates are lower. Love your new place. On camera it looks like you could fit another two chairs at each end of your kitchen bar table so all quints can fit. It"s trendy for chairs not to match.

Re girl's room beds. When I was a kid I had a bunk bed that could be changed to two twins, OR to a trundle set up. Most trundle beds I've seen are standard height twins with the trundle that slide under, very close to the floor. My set up was--the top bed was 3-3.5 ft off the floor, and the trundle was a little lower than a standard twin, but not like it was only skimming couple inches above the floor.
The good part is that the top bed would be very easy to change the sheets because it's below chest high on an adult. Safer because you don't have the height of a bunk bed.
The fun part: if you get two sets, the trundle from the second set can be stored, the kiddo sleeps on the high bed, and the space under the high bed can be a cozy "fort" just by hanging a blanket over the side. This was my favorite set up and I loved that I had a high bed.

In Landon’s closet, switching out all those wooden hangers to the thin velvet hangers would allow him to have more space. You can get those hangers anywhere.

It looks like a great home for your family, congratulations! I have 7 kids too, and we don't live in a big house. We've had to get creative and use vertical space too. At one point, I had all 4 of my girls in the same room in 2 sets of bunkbeds. It really wasn't that bad - they loved it, and thought it was a slumber party every night. Also, we have a huge closet in the master bedroom. We don't have as much space anywhere else, so we have always kept a lot of the kids' clothes in our closet. It works great! My husband and I don't have many clothes either, so it's nice to have the extra space for kid clothes.

We have limited space and my daughter loves her loft bed. It has a pull out desk and a dresser that also fits underneath it, plus a hideout spot under the bed to read.

You are a very smart woman to get out of that high interest. Let the market settle, let someone else take the loss on that big loan. You will not be sorry. Generations of families had small homes with multiples, the kids will do fine. And that garage...get aome kind of AC and Heat and you have an amazing playroom. Cant landon have his own bedding something that he likes and do the quins have there own tàste in beddiñg ie cartoon ones be nice kids stuff, have a nice time living iñ th8s house, looks very nice but very small fof all of you the rooms are tiny. Good luck nice house jamie xxx

I had 5 kids then later adopted 2 of my grandsons but when the five were smaller I bought a bunk bed that was full size on bottom and twin on top. I had three boys , one a little older and twins, at the time we had little space and Ii was ideal. As far as changing sheets etc I just left bunk away from wall it was more accessible. Hope this helps. 😊

Can beds fit against each other in a "U" shape or an 'L' shape?

MY opinion, since you asked.
Saving money seems to be your main goal, so don't go out & buy things you'll only need for a year. Save those $$ towards a down payment on a future home. You're a very creative lady & can come up with some unusual & very classy ideas. Repurpose what you already have.
Landon's room: Give him your extra night stand. Does he really need new bedding? Headboards can take up a lot of space in small rooms. Hang the artwork from his old room over the bed instead. He can add a few of your oversized pillows for the rare hanging out.
Realistically, Shayden will probably only be sleeping over a few nights a year. Let him crash on the sofa upstairs. That's where most teens seem to prefer anyway, or use the love sac cushions.
Don't buy bunkbeds for the girls if you already know they're a struggle. Use a trundle bed that would fit either under the day bed or one of the twins. For more space store the daybed & use the 2 twins with a trundle. You already have all the mattresses & bedding. And you can pick up a trundle frame for a few $$ if not free.
With all the littles clothes being stored down stairs, that gives them plenty of room for a dresser and/or toys plus storage in their closets. You already have most toys organized in totes. They're old enough now to keep their own rooms & things clean & organized.
Have fun letting the creative juices flow as you turn your new house into a home, letting all the kids contribute their own fun ideas. 🏘️ 🥰 🙏

Idea = Turn your garage into an "outdoor" play area. Mini-trampoline, mini-indoor basketball hoop, jump ropes....anything active to get the wiggles out. Even a disco ball for a crazy dance-off?

My number 1 suggestion for Landon’s closet is to get him the thin velvet type hangers. So much thinner and I bet you’ll fit a lot more clothes in with room

Looks great. It is helpful to share how you manage changes and make loving spaces for all the children. Some commenters vent because of their own lives or are feeling unwell at the moment. Best to observe not absorb.
