What a FUN video! 🤩 thank you!
ОтветитьI really hope there's more episodes in this series coming 🤩
Ответитьflay lady has a section call Baby Steps and i think she could have won the part about how to begin.the hardest thing is to begin .
ОтветитьFlylady's website looked the same all the way back in 2004. It hasn't evolved at all. LOL!
ОтветитьThis was a fun video. I’ve been doing FlyLady off and on for years. I really like her FlyLady Plus app that allows you to customize your routines, zones etc. and track your progress. It makes the system easier to start. I also love her advice to “jump in where you are”
ОтветитьI started as a working Mom. Raising 3 grandchildren. She wins for me. Been flying since the year 2000. She changed my life for the better.
ОтветитьOh Im a pure Flylady devote 😍 changed my life ! I get a bit sloppy with my zone cleaning sometimes, but blessing hour is my golden hour !
ОтветитьOmg. I love your videos. Women is pronounced Wimen ! I promise! 😅
ОтветитьI am so glad you said Flylady's website if over whelming I had a hard time figuring out what tasks I wanted to do - and how to edit them ( since I dont have kids/some of the items she specifies)
ОтветитьI’m a stay at home mom and I can’t make head or tails of FlyLady. 😂 I’ve signed up for her emails twice expecting one succinct email a day or similar, but unsubscribed almost immediately after being bombarded with messages.
Then I tried to peruse the website for like….a layout of the system and how it works, and I couldn’t make sense of anything after “shine your sink”. It’s SO chaotic.
I am really liking this series of comparison videos!
ОтветитьI love the Flylady system, but it’s the only one I’ve ever stuck with.
ОтветитьThe flylady app is excellent
ОтветитьI love your channel and your video ideas! They are really helpful. 😊Have you seen the channel called Secret Slob? I love her channel. She does the Fly Lady system but has tweaked it to be easier to understand and implement, particularly for exhausted moms who have a hard time finding motivation to clean. She also has an episode where her sister shows how she simplifies the system even more as a working mom.
ОтветитьLove these comparison vids, you've helped me realize I need a combo of these systems if I want to be consistent
ОтветитьWhat about the Flylady app? I just downloaded it yesterday! :)
ОтветитьAfter hearing about Fly Lady from you I went to her web page...yes yikes I didn't know where to start. Her app is better.
ОтветитьYour husband dancing at the end was hilarious 😆
ОтветитьI am so excited for you!🎉 I’m grateful to have found you when I did and stay for who you are, not specific content!
ОтветитьYou make me smile! I love your approach, honest emotions, and sense of humor! You are the winner for all the research you do, so we don't have to!🎉
ОтветитьI did the FlyLady system back when we were all still on Yahoo Groups. I think it might have been easier in that format.
I have tried to get back into it and it's not the same.
But yes, when I did the FlyLady system, my house was cleaner than it has ever been. I still retain a few elements of it, and I will always remember, "Housework done imperfectly still blesses the family" and "It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be done"!!
Ok Ariel. Love this idea of comparing. You’re doing a great job… so now - can you please put together a system with all the ‘wins’? And then try it for 30 days, or less? Would love to see that as a printable! Awesome.
ОтветитьI didn’t find fly lady’s system or website difficult. She had her cleaning helps and web site long before all these other cleaning ladies. She’s the one who got me started on systems several years ago.
ОтветитьFirst - throw out the area rugs.
ОтветитьHave been doing Flylady off and on since the year after she started it. Off during broken leg and other health issues
I agree the website is now one hot mess that needs work. Sometimes I think she put it all up and never changed the content.
When are we supposed to do the zone clean during flylady?
ОтветитьMiss your videos! Hope you all are OK! Praying!
ОтветитьHave you heard of Sarah Mcglory’s Adaptive Cleaning System? It’s for people with invisible illnesses like depression, anxiety or fibromyalgia etc. It is designed to help you maintain a household on good days and bad days. It adapts to your energy level for that day. As a mother of 3 with huge age gaps, I am finding it is harder to keep house the way I used to. I’d really be curious to hear your thoughts on this cleaning system.
ОтветитьAs a working mom, I’ve used the FlyLady app but I didn’t know you only have to do so many minutes for certain things. I know she says you don’t have to do it all, but I would love if you did a video on the app and how we could incorporate the time limits she recommends. Mahalo!
ОтветитьDefinitely a fan of FlyLady. I think taking time to make FlyLady a rhythm and not worry about the “set” time frames for working moms is key. Adjusting it to fit our family’s unique rhythm has helped us. I also appreciate the short time frames to dedicate to housekeeping- This working mom’s vote if Fly Lady.
ОтветитьI have not tried OM - I love FlyLady! - cleaning can be overwhelming and when you have a guide telling you where to jump in at it helps. It is nice to always have a clean house. I have been fully organized for over 20 years. Moving 6 times in the process. 5 children. I have NO paper clutter. I scan and digitize everything. Nothing like cleaning a clean toilet, lol. I am at the point where I do deep cleaning and I can do each zone in less than an hour per week. I don't need to use FL website as I know how the zones work and I made my own spreadsheet. I keep it clutter free of stuff when walking from one room to another - always grab something(s) that doesn't/don't belong and put it/they where it goes -
Now, if I could get my dust to slow down from piling up on my furniture.
Thank you for this! Love these who did it better videos! They make me laugh, they make me cry (ok maybe not cry, unless it's from laughter), they make me think. Your husband does an amazing job with the announcer voice too! 😂
ОтветитьThe big thing for beginners with Flylady is the BABYSTEPS. It eases you into taking care of your home and yourself!
ОтветитьWith toddlers and babies i think kitchen should even be a daily task. If i go one day without sweeping the floor looks terrible. (Not sure i would clean it every day but it should be lol)
ОтветитьHi Ariel, love your videos so much. Your honesty and narrations make my day! Keep making these hilariously smart videos. You do a great job and are a great motivator! Thanks so much from Florida(transplanted from Long Island, NY).💕🙋♀️🌺🌺🌺🇺🇸💕
ОтветитьI find the FlyLady App is an amazing tool maybe the website is overwhelming and looks old. The App is simple and to the point . You can even add your own routines and edit the already existing ones to your needs…. I love the app and I use it daily
ОтветитьNot sure it's in the comments (I world have read them all, but there's a lot because you do what you do well!) but Fly Lady also has an app which is so easy to use, and modify to fit your home, it totally makes up for all the panic attacks the website causes 😉
ОтветитьI was a working mom of 4 back in 2004 I began reading Flylady and that was during dialup internet😂! I purchased and read her book. Your comparisons are true IF you are in a hurry to begin the system, although she tells you to take Babysteps 1st because this is more than a house cleaning or organizing system (as you know😉) If you stick with her system it IS and will be Life Changing. Your babies will grow up fast, don’t waste your time trying to have the perfect organized house. She will teach you simple routines in the babysteps that if you do nothing more then the morning, afternoon and evening routines you will have more peace and time with your family which is really the goal. Life is to be lived don’t waste it trying to have trophy homes. Play with those babies, don’t worry about the messes. Soon you’ll be where I am just looking forward to having grand babies over to play with & pick up after. I DO want to suggest the Minimal Mom videos for children’s toys and just the mindset of being content with what we have(which Flylady also addresses) ❤Your videos are very entertaining and you have a beautiful family! Keep up the good work & God Bless😊
ОтветитьOh, one more thing. Would you be willing to review Clutter Bug's organizing styles? I would love to challenge you to discover what type of organizing bug you are, even though your house already looks basically organised. I discovered, as I de-clutter and re-organise, that I'm a butterfly/lady bug hybrid lol. But discovering the clutter bug (Cassandra Arsson) has really helped me alot as I boot camp an de-clutter my wannabe tidy home. And no, I do not go and by organ8sers, hooks, containers or anything right now. I just use the SPACE AND BOXES AND CONTAINERS that I already have to organ8se the things that I absolutely must keep. Otherwise, the box or hook or c9ntainer must go if I don't have a use for it.
ОтветитьI love your trials and this comparison is great! I am ab organised mum fan, but I've noticed aftercare watching your comparison, I've unknowingly broken down some 9f my tasks similar to the Fly Lady when I tweaked my schedule. Both ladies strongly recommend timers, which is always a challenge tor me because I have trouble letting s job go once the timer goes off, if it didn't get completed. But I'm getting better at it. One thing I do different from Organised Mum is I use weeks 4 and 8 as House Reset weeks. That's where each Level 2 day, I pick the most important tasks in that day's areas and spend the usual set time working on those. It could catch/up work, or if it's a room or areathat is still in Boot camp mode, I'll work on that. Then, on level3 Focus day, I assess all the areas of the house that are on my rotation and see what tasks were missed in the previous 3 weeks, and take the most important tasks and spend the usual amount of time working on just those tasks. But if I feel like I'm pretty well on top of those areas, then I'll either choose a miscellaneous area to work on, or even just take a break from level 3 jobs that week. It's niceties have 1 wwek per month where I can just focus on the most important and most/missed tasks, or even just hit areas that I might have had to miss one day or week if something came up, because I have a house reset week already scheduled each month. One job that I do kind of do like Fly lady I'd vacuuming. I only take the vacuum cleaner out once a week. I have outs that freak out like crazy when I vacuum, so I don't torture them with it every day lol. So,vI do that on my Focus day, in which I do a level 3 detailed vacuum in that week's level 3 areas, then I do my sofa d8ve with the vacuum when I recharge the Living room, and the rest of the house gets just a basic level 1 quick sweep. That way it doesn't take me more than an hour to vacuum. It does mean that my cleaning beyond level 1's on Focus day is more like 90 minutes. But the way I broke down the rest of my jobs, the other days really do take me 30-45 minutes (not including dailies).
ОтветитьThis was an awesome video. Thanks
ОтветитьFlyLady has really changed my perspective on housekeeping. Before I would put off tasks when I knew I didn’t have time to do them perfectly. This really just translated to it not getting done. Her principle of imperfect housekeeping still being a blessing to your family has really changed my life. Now I just do the tasks, do what I can do, and it will look better whether it’s done perfectly or not. Dana K White is the other gal who has changed my life the most. Her decluttering advice and focus on basics is so helpful.
ОтветитьThe FlyLady app is amazing! I felt so overwhelmed by the website I didn’t even start but since I found the app it’s made it so achievable and satisfying to tick things off!
ОтветитьGreat video. That announcer is fantastic
ОтветитьI love the flylady system, have been a flybaby for 19 years and I havent found anything else that keeps me motivated. LOVE these reviews of different systems cause no system is a one size fits all :) Love that you touch on the highlights of them so people can find what works best for them.
ОтветитьThanks for this comparison video, it's helpful. A wonderful introduction to Fly Lady is Diane In Denmark - she's so supportive and explains the system really well.
ОтветитьI love Flylady’s attitude but her emails and website are overwhelming for me. I used her baby steps to get me into some good habits and I still try to follow some of her stuff like swish and swipe, shine the sink and dressed to shoes (I have an old pair of sneakers that are my inside shoes). But for daily cleaning tasks I really like Motivated Mom. Her app is $1.99 month so yes you have to pay but it’s amazing!! I love how she just provides the list and then I get to decide how to distribute it in my day. I can even print the list if I don’t want the app and have my whole family help with the tasks. She breaks down big tasks like cleaning the fridge so you only clean 1 shelf a day. I love that!! I can do that while my toddler eats a snack in his high chair!
Ответитьoh no, organized mom doesn't tell you (how) to do the dishes... but she also doesn't tell you to flush the toilet. You just do it as you go / after you have eaten...
Ответить
