It’s good for different countries in the world to specialise in different sectors and all contribute to the making of an amazing product, and then there’s always this country that decides to disrupt the industry for no apparent reasons other than false territorial claims

Just because you can get your hands on an EUV machine does not mean you can make the chips at scale.
If that were so then companies like Samsung and Intel could make the 5 nm chips, but no.
Samsung has yield problems and heating problems, while Intel still couldn't get past 10 nm.
It's like saying you can be Gordon Ramsey just because you have the most advanced cooking equipment and the freshest ingredients.
TSMC is the Gordon Ramsey of making chips, copied but never equaled.

fun fact: The EUV lasers, that are employed inside the lithography machines of ASML are made by a german company called TRUMPF. It is the only company world wide that can build these lasers.

China is Making their own Machines Now This is a thing of past

America showing it’s stupidity. Right now China needs to be god to get the equipment but if force to fend for themselves they will just start building the technology and wipe their ass a decade later. Never back a country into a no-win position it will never end well.

This is a win only in the short term. As we've seen with Russia, and this is China we're talking about - a far advanced country mind you, the more you pressure them, the more energy and money they'll pour into innovation, or even stealing foreign tech. If successful, they'll just be independent from the west in like a decade, and you can't use this card again... should a situation requiring sanctions or anything of that sort arise. I literally do not understand why you'd block someone from buying your products they themselves cannot produce.

So you don't need to take over/level the Taiwan plants to cut off the supply of high end semiconductors, just take out a few plants in a weak EU country - bet the Chinese know this and will take advantage of this when Taiwan gets invaded.

With regards to the lithography machine that they say would take China at least 10 years, eat your heart out. China is known for lightning speed construction of just about anything. For all they know, it could only take half the time or even faster!

The global system that was in place before 2019 has allowed ASML to specialise and produce EUV lithography machines and no other country bothered to produce those machines because they were available on the market. Today that system no longer exists because of the US restrictions.
So most countries that look at the restrictions are trying hard to be self sufficient.

You forgot to mention that ASML EUV optical system are designed by German smt carl Zeiss...and then 3 American companies EDA designed what ASML EUV print on the wafers, and than other American companies like nvidia and AMD and Intel tell TSMC what to design on the chip.

They are only one of the many parts required for the chip industry, dont forget TEL (Tokyo).

europe is crazy, they are 1+ billion people rich people... and have asml. they can create chips on their own and mobile pphones laptops and more, but they dont do it... it is easy for them we get money from the rich countries when we broke and then leave out the expertise we have in board.... maybe netherlands need to create their own chip production with exchange to other parts of smartphones and laptops...
