I thank you so much for this message; I have been feeling sorry for myself looking at all the hard things that have happened in my life and continue to. BUT I can and will be an overcomer, and repent of self-pity. He has made me with power, love and a sound mind!

By the way, our church bible study has studied several of Lysa's teachings over the years and we all love them! I have grown in my walk with the Lord so much as a result. AND congratulations on your recent nuptials. My first husband was unfaithful and abandoned me and our infant son for one of the women. BUT my story had a happy ending; I have been happily married to my second husband for 24 years now.

It’s with deepest gratitude that I wish bountiful blessings on you all for Therapy & Theology’s impact in Jesus’ Name! I want to send a particular thanks for this message! You shine His Light brightly in the darkness that you and we so regularly face daily here on earth. May the enemy tremble at the grit and resiliency that has been, and will continue to be, called forth through this Spirit-filled conversation! Thank you! ❤

Martha went to Jesus when Lazarus died & talked with Him and asked the hard questions, all the while KNOWING that He was the Messiah and never doubting it. She just poured her true heart to Him...she took it to HIM. Mary stayed in the house.

Thank you for this perspective on hardships, Lisa! This is what I want for my current hardship. It wasn't supposed to be this way, yet God is in control and using it to mold me into the vessel he wants to use.

Thank you for sharing, my story has felt similar to Lysa’s and so it’s been immensely helpful to listen to this. My soon to be ex husband cheated on me a lot and begged for forgiveness and then renewed his vows to our kids and me and then eventually left me anyways, it’s felt crushing.

I'm wondering why you keep saying in your videos that Jesus first spoke those words to Martha. How do you know he hadn't just spoken them to Mary and friends before Martha walked into the room to complain? With all due respect think you're going on an assumption.

In the movie World War Z...the expert is talking about viruses and he says something like..."The thing that seems to be the most cruel about the virus often is it's weak point." This is kind of what Lysa was talking about...often, in the hardest things you find the hidden strength that God has given you and you grab it and move forward as a bad A. (Like Lysa).

We cannot understand the passages about women in the N T, unless we understand how the Jewish religion of Jesus' day put women down. A rabbi, named Eliezer said, “Rather should the words of the Torah be burned than entrusted to a woman". However Jesus taught women! Martha met Mary at the time of Lazarus's death and said "The TEACHER is asking for you. We can only understand this, and how radical Jesus was, if we understand the Pharisaical religion of the day.

Oh
Lisa. I'm so thankful for this podcast. My husband of 23 years walked out on my boys and me on January 25, 2020. Life was so very hard and scary. Not knowing how I would take care of my boys and myself on disability. God is redeeming my story, it's a process I'm doing my best to actively participate in. This podcast gave me more tools to help. I pray that God continues to bless and prosper you.

I love this talk about resiliency and "don't", and "can't". My foster grandchildren often say "I can't" about something that they may not even have tried. I encourage them to change the script to " I will try". When they do, I can see the boost in their self esteem and hopefully resiliency
