EASY Bios Flashback: Ryzen Motherboard Bios Update Without CPU - X570, B550, X470, B450

Do i need to use a specific usb size? Because i red that you need an usb not bigger than 16gb

Hey, pc builder, im having a bit of trouble. I followed every instruction with this video and "how to build a pc" video, but my graphics card (amd radeon 7900 xt, paired with 7800x3D) is not showing any display on my HDMI monitor. MY GPU was working fine with my old pc after I decided to build one from scratch, but all of a sudden, it's not working. Could it be my motherboard bios(I have a B650m ds3h)

What if I purchase MSI A520M-A Pro and a Ryzen 5 5500, Bios isn't compatible and need to be updated. Will it turn ON and proceed to BIOS setup ?

I have a ryzen 5 5600 and asrock b550m pro4 is it recommended to update my bios? My current bios is 2.60 and the latest is 2.90 just 1 update away.

Can I have other files on my USB stick? Or it needs to be clean and only new BIOS on it?

I made the mistake of not renaming the file to MSI.ROM before initiating bios flash. Red light has been blinking for close to an hour. Is it safe for me to power off and rename the file before trying again, or should I just let it continue?

Hey pc builder. I just got a ryzen 5700x today. I downloaded the new bios, i put it on my flash drive, and for some reason, when I go to m flash, it says there are no files to be found on the flash drive. I tried everything, but still nothing. I use a msi tomahawk max b450 mbo

I’ve just bought a ASUS PRIME B550M-A WIFI II which says Ryzen 5000/5000g series ready to use with a Ryzen 5500. So I guess I don’t need to do this?

Hello Jason, you are at the top of my subscribed list and I value your posts. They have helped me greatly in my journey to build a fairly decent pc for flight simming. I wanted to comment about any power issues folks might have in flashing a bios without the cpu. I have a Thermaltake psu and an MSI B550A-Pro motherboard. Turns out the Thermaltake doesn't turn on (fan spinning) unless it is plugged into the ATX-24 motherboard connector. My consternation was that when I did that, the psu still didn't turn on. So after a bit of cursing and settling down I decide to try putting the USB drive into the slot and press the FlashBack button and lo and behold the flash light started flashing, the motherboard led debug light and the psu fan starting turning. Yay!!! While I'm still getting the rig together, I'd thought I'd share my experience for those who might be going or will be going through the same thing. Thanks again for all you do for us. Regards

so if i do have a 3000 series cpu i just put in the usb with the flashback and update through bios? and can it be in any usb port since i have a B450M Pro4-4F?

do i do the same for the motherboards LAN driver?
or does it come with the bios update?
the website have updates for the gigabyte b650 ds3h(what im using). there are updates for both LAN and BIOS. are they different? do i have to update both?
is updating drivers the same as updating the BIOS?

Sorry does not work on the Gigabyte Auros X470 wifi 7 :( Nothing works, i cannot get it to work. I updated my bios in the bios like alway, but then the mobo went dead... I have had no computer for 3 weeks and i am out of ideas... Please HELP!!! BTW. my motherboad doesnot have a "BIOS" port on the back, so what do i do... Please someone help me.... My mobo only has "Q-Flash" NOT Q-Flash Plus... Any help?

Do we have to have a blank, newly formatted USB drive for the flashback process, or can we just put the relevant BIOS files onto our already-in-use flash drives? I would imagine folders with mp3s, etc wouldn't confuse the mobo, but I do worry that the drive might have fragmentation that may cause hiccups, but I'm not knowledgeable about such things.

Can you still flash the MB with everything plugged in (GPU, USB, RAM, ...) ?

If i am updating my bios from a 3900x to a 5900x, Do i need to uninstall the GPU ram and all the power cables and do as the video instructed? What should be taken out and what is acceptable to leave in? I have a gigabyte x570 aorus master. Thank you

Just stared my first ever PC build thanks to this channel! I just bought a X570s master motherboard and ryzen 5900x a week ago. Do I still need to update my bios?

We flashed my X570s so it can support my 5600x (used the newest version of BIOS for my motherboard) with the 5600x cpu socketed and everything hooked up, seemed to flash correctly, fans on the pc came on and the qflash flashed for a while, all shut down after a few minutes. Turned the psu off, and unplugged the USB, but then the power button on the PC doesn't power up anything now. New build, never had anything on it before. Should we qflash the motherboard with nothing on it instead of with the new cpu hooked up and everything?

Wait but how can I rename the usb drive if I don’t have a cpu? How do I have a computer to do that? ( I’m not upgrading my cpu I’m going straight for the 5600x and don’t know how I can get windows running without my cpu being compatible)

I didn't see the question that I have. I just bought the gigabyte aorus Elite v2 mobo and a Ryzen 5 5600G. Should I just go ahead and flash the bios or install everything first and check the bios version?

Help I did this and nothing happened. No lights turned on the motherboard and there was a quick white flash idk what happened help

Is it still okay to flash bios like this, even tho you have all the parts (gpu,cpu etc.) I just got no display building my first pc.

We have followed all of these instructions however the BIO Flashback is still solid green. We have used two USB's Fat32 MBR.
We cannot figure out what we're doing wrong. BIOS file is correct for the board. File name is correct. CPU not connected. Only Power to MB.
Can you think of anything that is wrong?

I got a question why do the msi x570 edge max wifi on PCPartPicker show it's green and ready to go, no bios update needed for the Ryzen 5 3600 but when I turn on my system I got a black screen and a CPU debug light pls help I'm getting no signal on my screen I even flash bios nothing help
