I really like the Ikea ones but the no customization is a deal breaker. Having a gap between two blackout blinds like that would drive me insane. I'm leaning towards the Soma with custom blinds--even though the Ikea ones look much better.

I don't like dedicated mini-apps for addressing each category of IoT stuff - unless the different platforms can at least all be linked to an overall master app. It's supposed to be a productivity thing, not to bog you down with more proprietary bridges, logic lines, sequences and things to execute. Otherwise, what's the use of creating expanded scenes for automation! Consider also BLE mesh.

I think Ikea is the best of the budged options. I would also suggest trying Dako.

i have a window that is 1m heigh, the IKEA blind is 1.95m length. Is there the possibility to adjust the opening length to 1m?

Did you end up buying from Somfy or Jackson?

Did not know about Soma but I am using another Korean company brand - forgot the brand name (but works for heavier blinds, as for some blinds if the motor is too weak, it cannot pull on the beads, so for existing blinds, please take note). Your master bedroom is using which automation to close it automatically?

Hi Alex, you shortlisted somfy initially because it is in the smart thing app. However later you were let down by sg somfy as it doesn't connect to smart things app ya? So any other smart blinds compatible with smart things beside somfy, Soma and Ikea? Or just these 3 only?

I'm choosing my smart blinds now and I'm stuck as Ikea max out at 1.4m so I will probably end up with 2 set and have a weird gap in-between. Alternative somfy but it's just too costly and using its own proprietor smart tech. Any suggestions for blackout of a single set of master room length (2.3m+) cost to be below 500?

The soma would be excellent for my elderly parents. Keep them off the step needed to raise and close the blind in their living room.

can the soma work with venetian blinds

Hi Alex; Thanks so much on your comparison on the various Smart blinds just a question for Soma Smart Shade 2 do you encounter any issue trying to get it to work with the Zebra blinds such as setting up the amount of light (sheer) you want the blinds to pass through and making it full blackout?

How many hub u have in total, look like you have a lot of hub for different devices
