2024 Genesis GV80 (2.5T): Better Than Mercedes?

Beautiful car. Probably going to pick one of these up down the road. You said this was a baseline model a few times suggesting ther are more options you can get but the one your driving is equipped with the Prestige package which is the highest Trim for the 2.5T. Not baseline in my opinion.

I like the GV70 interior better. The oval wrapping the climate controls is good. It has a 50s or 60s feel. A couple of years ago gv70s were in the 40ks and the GV80s were in the 50ks. The 2.5 gv80 hitting 70k is a big nope.

Genesis' problem is their dealerships, or lack thereof. Hyundai dealerships aren't up to luxury brand ownership standards by any stretch. Better than a Mercedes, nah. This particular example is overpriced.

Genesis used to be a value luxury brand. Now it’s only slightly less expensive than it’s German competitors, but still made with Hyundai parts.

I cannot fathom spending $70k for the same displacement engine my $35k car that weighs over 1k pounds less has… who buys this underpowered stuff?

Thanks for your review my 2016 Porsche Cayenne was recently totaled. I saw this vehicle (used 2021) and l was intrigued with everything you get for less. The larger tires, the cars ability to move by itself , the leather and wood interior. It unfortunately didn’t handle and drive as well as my old Porsche but it did pretty well. I know it’s a newer brand so l am doing research on recalls , trying to understand the positives and negatives. Great review on the new model. I understand some changes have been made in 2024. Thanks for sharing.

The real gv80 2024 is 27 lg oled panoramic intrior, very difrenet and more modern. The 2024 that you see in all this videos are the same 2020-2023 gv80 models ❤

love this car but even as a korean, I would not buy this until they fix their engine connecting rod bearing problems for all their cars. that class action and still haven't fixed the issue. lexus infotainment is dogshit. and tesla interior is sub-par quality.

While this does have good pricing compared to the GLE 350, the X5 is a better value in some ways as it comes with the six cylinder turbo that costs extra with the GV80 and GLE. The BMW is still more expensive as compared to the six cylinder genesis, but the difference is closer to $5k, which I think is worth it.

The Mercedes is definitely overpriced as the six is a very expensive option. If I were only comparing the GV80 to the GLE, I’d opt for the genesis. That said, I ordered an X5 yesterday.

I will have to say it isn't really a base model. Yes it has the base engine but it has the prestige package with it. So the only better option you can get for options is the 3.5 prestige signature. The 2.5T with prestige is the package I am currently looking at. It gives the most luxury bang for the buck in the line.
