The USS Constitution is still a commissioned vessel in the United States Navy. It has an active duty Navy crew, and is listed on the Naval Vessel Register as an active ship. The Navy has a 50,000 acre White Oak forest at Naval Support Activity, Crane, IN for the sole purpose of growing timber for repairs to the Constitution. It is referred to as Constitution Grove.

According to pictures Beagle wasnt brig-sloop.
We could call it a ship-sloop. 😅 Invent a better and non confusing name for sloop-of-war like civilian vessel.

The Battle of Trafalgar took place on the 21st October 1805. Getting basic facts like this wrong does you no favours. 4/10 Must do better.

They just missed the most terrifying naval war machine, from entire medieval era ... Botafogo ( Spitfire ) Galleon ( São João Baptista ) from Portugal, with its crew of 1300 men, mostly Military Order of Christ ( Templar Knights ). 1000 Tons, 366 Bronze cannons ( unique back fast reload ) that destroyed the Ottoman Empire from the Mediterranean sea, made the infamous Barbarossa Corsair retreat ... Never lost a single battle ... But these are just small details, it happens ... Besides that, "good" video & info ... 🧐

Very incomplete list. Very bad not to mention the technological advances made by the first nation that kicked off the age of discovery, Portugal, and not a single Vessel mentioned, Caravel, or Carrack or even a Galeon. All the nation after Portugal that started their discoveries were using the ships that the Portuguese invented. The biggest and more powerful ship around 1500 was S. João Baptista, Known as Botafogo, it had more then 300 canons gross weight was around 1000 tons. It was so big that managed to break the "unbreakable" chains protecting the port of tunis during the conquest of tunis in 1533.

Sometimes I find it difficult to wrap my head around that all people do is war and kill… Most ships in this video are of course war for killing… Well as the new Ukrainian Russian war rages I fear soon will all feel what it's like.

Sorry, but the word "ancient" doesn't apply to ships from the 17th, 18th, or 19th centuries, like the HMS Beagle or HMS Victory.

But for Roman Emperor Caligula's pleasure barges, it would.

the 'chinese treasure ships' is a persistent myth created by one american writer based off stories in chinese literature which are notoriously iffy (according to these stories, general kwan yu's long handled sword was 108 pounds and he was one of the few who could wield it). There's no archaeological evidence of these ships though this writer's stories have been embraced by the chinese government.
