Man, when I grow up I`d like to sound like you :) Amazing playing. Thanks a lot for all the lessons, they are very helpful. Killer sounds and most tasteful licks. BTW Can you disclose what 12 inch speaker are you running in this beautiful Princeton?

How does Guthrie get his princeton so clean and glassy? I’ve also got a 12” in mine and it sounds quite dark and rather muscular

I love slow trem. It get's to sounding like a Fender Rhodes piano when it's slow. I dig that.

I have heard really great players but they really can't teach- you are great at both. I took lessons from Joe Pass and Chris Parkening. I used to do demos for a big company and we would take finished product to them. I would watch Howard Roberts (he is the foundation of GIT curriculum) I stole CAGED from him before any of you ever heard of it. You are a really great teacher.

Hi Guthrie, a fan of your videos and approach to teaching. Thank you. If I wanted to send you a little gift where would I send it? I’m not a jerk or scammer, etc .

@guthrietrappmusic thanks so much for this video and advice. I know you mentioned if you had to choose you would get the deluxe. I’m trying to decide between a Princeton and a deluxe and I play small gigs, at church and basically low stage volume situations or am mic’d. Would you lean towards a Princeton in that situation in your experience? I can only afford one

@guthrietrapp if you had to choose for home use, low volume stages adn maybe an occasional outdoor gig but you can only a have one amp do you choose Princeton or deluxe? I know you mentioned the deluxe for one but realistically I am a home, worship, friends jam player and maybe a beer garden player. Would you still choose deluxe or would you go Princeton with a 12"? Thanks in advance!

It's funny seeing all these guys with huge pedalboards and tons of gear, yet they don't even get close to a tone as great as Guthrie's. Sometimes I think less is more. Wicked Game oh yeah!

I just stumbled on your channel and I'm absolutely blown away! What beautifully melodic player and such a sweet tone.

This is a really important lesson for all of us to get that fundamental tone together with the guitar and amp before you even step on an effect pedal. Thanks for the upload!

One of my best friend's named Steve Bishop lived down in Nashville for a number of years. He passed away tragically around 7 years ago.

If you heard Steve play you would remember him! He was actually on vintage guitar magazine's top 10 best unknown guitar players in the world. Did you happen to know him?

I can get my amp on and all that. I just flounder after about 3 or 4 notes into noodling. Still, I've only been playing 30 years so I'm sure it'll all fall into place soon. Right gang?

Regarding volume/venue size; The second input on fender amps are typically about 6 dB power than the first input.

I'm the same way. I want simplicity with my gear. Unless I want something specific like a wah pedal or something, I always almost go with a guitar, a chord and an amp. That's it.

Today modeling is so good. I would tour with a Tone Master or even a Kemper or equivalent.
The cost of old Fenders amps can hit well over $2000 each. My 65 pro reverb Blackface is over $3000 now. Plus upkeep. Tubes blow or get old. Ya need a back up amp too.
I used to have a road crew and they did the lifting plus I got free gear. Today I am to old for 45 pound amps.
Get that Tone Master Twin reverb 200 Watts with reduction circuit and your good to go. Reliable and 25 pounds. Sounds perfect too

It's all about the guitar/amp relationship for the foundation of tone. Guthrie does a great job explaining and demonstrating that. It's amazing how many people think that you get your tone through pedals - pedals are just spices. Great job Guthrie.

Hey Guthrie...love the types of vids you put out, but was hoping at some point you might find a way to have your voice come through better on your videos. I can hear your playing just fine, but when you speak, it's not at the same level and difficult to hear a lot of times. Keep up the good work though!

I just love what the RC booster adds to my tone. The white RC first version is the only pedal that have followed me since it came out. Sometimes I turn the amp a bit to high up, and then tame it with the RC. Great great pedal... :-) And you Sire, is a great inspiration to me...
