Terrible guide

Awesome walkthrough! I was going at this for like 6 shifts trying to figure it out!

Some improvements to the methods shown here:
1. Right before you tether the reactor out of its housing, go rip the front panel off the ECU and pull the three coolant canisters within. This will empty the coolant lines and, while it will start a reactor meltdown, it’s not so quick that the tether won’t have time to yank it down to the barge.
2. The Power Generator will cause an electrical hazard if just ripped out. You can prevent this by popping all the fuses (turn the switch next to them when none of that fuse’s lights are red, if any of them are red then you’ll electrocute yourself). Best keep out of the way of the popped fuse, though, their physics seem a bit bugged at the moment.

Two questions, Where do you generally hear about games you end up playing? And is it seriously called a boop gun?

You need to disable the cooling by removing the three coolant containers INSIDE the ECU.

As soon as you do that, the reactor starts to meltdown, so get things ready first.

When you do new games, it would be amazing if you gave a little overview of the game real quick.

The keys randomly appear in all ships as floating junk. I collected about 20 of them by the time I got my first Gecko although they are sometimes hard to spot.

You have enough time to disable the cooling before puting the tether on the reactor.

I looked into this game because you play it. I play Rimworld and ONI aswell.

Btw. if you fancy the stuff in the cockpit, you can go inside, rip everything lose, then disconnect the whole cockpit part of the ship and tether it to your hub. It will move forward while all the items inside will remain where they are. Then you can easily collect them.

"If you remove one of them it's fine". It won't be in the near future. A dev already confirmed that removing the cooling should trigger the meltdown regardless of whether the fuel is connected. So always disconnect the fuel first.

Little tip, the range on the splitsaw is much greater than you realize. You can cut multiple joints if you angle yourself just right with the range upgrades. Careful, that range can backfire. Had a moment when I was going to be cheeky and cut a nacelle joint from some distance away, only for the saw to continue into a fuel line. Next thing I knew, the whole aft of the ship exploded.

A lot of work orders gong to fail working this way. Paying off debt with money is the lowest priority. Obtaining lynx tokens and ranking up your certification is the larger gameplay bottleneck.

One question: why doesn't this game have lamps and flashlights??

You can rip the power generator (not reactor) out without damaging it by removing all the fuses, just be mega careful cos they hurt if you take them out wrongly and picking them up at a moderate distance can full destroy your helmet xD.

Bought the game, played for 8 hours straight. How is this a game?! Living existential dread.

Im gonna be honest this game looks interesting. I would love to know more about the ships how they work, how i should disassembly them. I kinda wish there would be a game with real life stuff like jets or existing rockets. One thing which grinds my mind is the timer i hate timers in video games. I want to take my time and get comfy with the game and not be under constant pressure.

If you sick of the popping coolant in this process, just before you pull the reactor out just go to the ECU. Open the door, get the 3 coolants out and you can remove the reactor "safely".
Sometimes before I go to the reactor, just cut the pipe behind the ECU, like a double check.

Are you sure the reactor starts to go if you remove both fuel and cooling? I thought it wouldn’t pop till it left the containment area

Nuclear reactor terminology: critical = self sustaining reaction, super critical = accelerating number of reactions, could potentially lead to reactor damage if not controlled (probably the one you meant to use).
