i tryed aswell to send money virtually to getsby ... but i havent being able to transfer the money to the exchange i use to trade. i dont know if this can be done with cards like google cards. so... if you go and get lots of this cards... banks think u spent your money there... they dont see the transaction to the exchanges if this makes sense. but again... i am finding this quite difficult with my exchange. could be like a fiat issue cos i have pounds euros and dolars... i hope u find this suggestions interesting... so u can try them...

Nationwide once blocked my transaction from my account with them in GBP, to Nexo until I'd had a lengthy conversation with their fraud dept. Otherwise ive been transferring okay to and from ever since.

Don't use Revolut for crypto services, only fiat rump on and off in small quantity or daily up to £10,000 then increase late . Use exchange to purchase crypto then move to cold strage.

Looking at pulling some out soon.

Guessing I will be forced to the condescending questionnaire?

Ive recently had a huge run in with Revolut - bought crypto on the platform about 3 years ago stupidly without knowing anything about crypto and realising that this was a stupid mistake. Since then I have moved a few tokens off the platform that they’ve allowed. One of the tokens I own is OMG Network and they sent out an email recently saying the crypto is being delisted meaning that we have to all sell the token or get liquidated before February 6th (essentially recognising a loss for 99% of people) with currently no option to transfer the token to another platform that still supports the token. This is just daylight robbery and complete neglect of their customers. Avoid buying crypto on this platform like the plague

Thanks for the Headsup. I'm looking for a bank that I can pay euros into regularly from an exchange where I convert bitcoin into euros. I hope I don't get blocked by my bank. It's crazy.

I use Halifax, and never had any issues with them. I do wonder whether it's certain exchanges that banks have issue with, other than crypto itself. I've always used coinbase for withdrawals, although I don't like to, as the fees are larger. But I do feel that they are more trusted by banks than most of the others.

As i think you are saying the problem is buying crypto today but finding a place to sell/off ramp it, you can send it from cold storage to an exchange, but then if you bank it you stand a chance of your funds being frozen as illegal earnings, yet the UK government wants to tax us on profits, its the dots are not joined up as yet at the minute there is no clear way to do it, even sending funds abroad means they will be frozen on return.

Revolut is the only card/bank I use to buy my crypto from the big exchanges. It works fine every time. I don't buy crypto on revolut, rather, I buy crypto on other exchanges and pay for it using my revolut card.

I think I commented on a previous video of yours in favour of Revolut - today my opinion changed.

For a few months now I’ve been trading small amounts on the Revolut crypto exchange with my GBP account (so all in app). I’ve setup an additional joint account, plus a child account and pay the monthly fee for the metal account. Overall it’s fair to say I’m a committed customer.

Today, out of the blue, they sent me a request to prove ALL of my income sources via the app, when I say all income sources they are also including any additional income that doesn’t pass through my Revolut account. I explained that it would take up a considerable amount of time to sort that out but I would be happy to provide info about any specific transactions they were concerned about- they said they would only accept evidence from all my income sources otherwise my account would be restricted (which I assume means closed).

They’ve given me 20 days to comply but I’ve decided to move my banking. All my income is legal, I have nothing to hide, but I do not see why I should spend hours gathering and photographing evidence of my income to prove this, furthermore, any of my income that isn’t paid into Revolut is frankly none of their business.

Have recently bought and sold ETH on limit orders with revolut and moved money to Santander without any problems, any financial institutions dealing within the UK are now heavily regulated, I would suspect eventually all will catch up whatever bank you use😢 and follow the same draconion rules, none of them are crypto friendly in the UK

Have you heard of a horror story about British who was on his way for a vacation in Japan, he converted some currency into yen and also some crypto but when he landed in Japan soil with wifi resumed he was shocked to find out that all of his money has been converted back into GBP and then moved to another online bank Monzo… it happened during his flight time which he had NO internet access this leading to suspicion that it was an inside job of a revolution staff.

Nice video, but im on the opposite side (At the moment) They have actually worked well for me for the over 3 years I have used them. These are the things that work for me, spending my crypto in revolut, transfering my revolut crypto back into my revolut cash account (including profit). I also transfer funds to and from external wallets like metamask without any issue to buy crypto that is not on revolut. I also spend some of my revolut crypto as you get rewarded back in crypto as well. So far "touch wood" no problems, no account locking nothing. I live and work in the UK and use my crypto account very frequently monthly. I am not on the metal plan, I am one down on the metal plan. The problems you have run into with them sound frustrating, but even for me the help desk with the chat within the app have actually been pretty useful as well, recently they have bene helping me make sure all my documents are upto date and signed for all my investing and crypto stuff so I dont run into problems. But on a side note, I always have a backup plan if I do end up getting bad service to quit and run ... always hard to trust banks or anyone really.

All great points here..Question...Has anybody tried to off ramp a large amounts ie over 50-100k plus amd had nonissues? or has it been just much smaller amounts?

Obviously with a bull run around the corner it would be nice to know if we can off ramp 6 figures plus? Sounds almost impossible in the uk!

The whole space is a shit shower unfortunately in the uk. Sometimes it’s that much agro and that many hoops to jump through, I sometimes wish I never got involved. I think you’d find that regardless of who the PM in the uk is, ultimately it’s the banks that do the dictating and controlling of peoples lives to safeguard their own greed, while they use other peoples money trusted to them to line their own pockets.

Just as an overview from a news story I posted here that got deleted (?) about Davos banker huddle, apparently even they think UK regs are “harsh” so looks like fishy-Rishi pulled our leg! Anyway here’s the snippet from news article.
“Among regulation concerns, UK supervisors were discussed by some as being particularly harsh, followed by European regulators, that source said”. What gets me is that crypto is bleeding edge tech’ and up to 10% of population are said to hold/trade them but we seem incapable of applying pressure to government en-masse for our best interests.

All banks are freezing genuine accounts under the guise of fraud or money laundering. Whilst customer less tanning shops & Turkish barbers are everywhere. Just like climate change it’s just another avenue to implement tyrannical control!
Look what Trudeau’s government done to the Canadian truckers!

Revolut has been ok for me so far

The crypto side has been improving quite a bit over the last few months. I quite often buy USDT (fee free) and transfer it to my preferred exchange. (ERC-20 only withdrawal so costs a few dollars)
The crypto functionality was extremely limited initially and when I had queries to Revolut about networks etc they clearly didnt have a clue what I was asking, but they have improved alot in functionality and information shown.

I've noticed a few cryptos cant be withdrawn - ATOM recently (So worth checking before you buy and try to withdraw as I had to swap it into another crypto losing a few % in multiple swaps)
Ive withdrawn to both private wallets and exchanges recently - No issues so far

With the UK crackdown I have lost the ability to transfer GBP directly to all the exchanges I usually used so have found Revolut to be pretty useful so far.

That being said , there's a reason I have the majority of my crypto in my cold storage wallet. Be safe.

Mate, really like your channel and you are providing a good service as your content is basically every question i asked myself in the past. Unfortunately i love revolut, i have been with them since the beginning and traveled globally without any issues. I use revolute as a on ramp to a fca approved exchange but have never bought crypto with them. I think the main problem is regulation trying to keep up with innovation. This being with crypto and the services revolut offer. I do think it is wise not to hold too much funds in any account tho.
