The Truth About Aldi's Really Low Prices

Is Aldi your everyday grocery store or do you use them for specific items only?

I love Aldis. There are now two within 3 miles of me (Newark, NJ). A trip is efficient and I never feel crowded or rushed. I like Aldis even better in Europe where I spen a month or so each year. A trip to Aldis in Budapest gets me good bread, . vegetables (especeally root) protein (especially Duck and goat) and excellent prices on locall wines (from $1.79 to $4.50 for a GOOD bottle) local and regional beers (better in quality and taste than in the US)

We sure wish there was a Aldi store in Aberdeen, SD...

i know someone that work at aldi and they said the only bad part is they will never ever get over time and most the weeks they only allowed to work about 24-30 hours per week

My wife loves Aldi's for certain things. That was very informative! Aldi has a great business model, and so does Costco. White label, in-house is way better regarding products. Great video!!!

Aldi, please open one of great priced store in Bartly Green. One is badly needed. There is only one food supermarket-Asda. A horrible tiny expensive shop. Expensive, because it has the manoperly , as it is on its own. Its badly set out, does not carry a lot of food. A aldis shop is so needed. The bread is horrible and not .much choice. To bring the cost of food down. Show Asda how its done.

They are very smart. They know to stock up on gluten free products because they are appealing to us gluten intolerant and celiac. They know we share the word easily of good GF places and that we are exceedingly loyal. I refuse to shop elsewhere. If aldis doesn't have it, I'm not getting it!

I love Aldi! The simplicity of the store is great. I actually like it that you have limited choices, and the quality is good. Also nice to know how efficient they work, it’s really fascinating. The fact that they mostly have their own brands is a good way of bonding with the customer, I think. Because hopefully after time people will come in for your products that ONLY you sell. It’s like a world of their own.

The only downside to Aldi are the barcodes, because they are printed all over the boxes, and the cashier can scan very fast. As a customer you just have to absentmindedly shove it in your cart to keep up with it. 😅

Don't shop in budget supermarkets when you are depressed, it could send you over the edge.

They my everyday. But use kroger or Walmart for specific items only. If I have to hate going to these two store. Especially Walmart.

Another way they save cost is hire illegitimate logistic company’s at their distribution centers that barely pay

None of this changes the fact that they are busting people's backs and barely paying a living wage. Aldi employees are worth MORE than they are paid.

THEY DO sell cheaper and lower quality products. ….. in Europe ….. but in the U.S. food is low quality everywhere so it does not get noticed.
I will never waste a meal with Aldi, Lidl, Trader Joe.

Love shopping at Aldi but in Australia I find it frustrating they seem to loath opening registers. They persistently leave it till the last moment to open registers and wast no time in closing them down.🇦🇺😮

What I find is that the quality of Aldi food is better than the name brand stuff.
I ate Kellogg's Raisin bran crunch for years and once I had a box or two of the Aldi version, I felt like I was being punished if I had to eat the Kelloggs again, (when we would run low and I'd go to the closer grocery store ....1 mile vs 12 )

Bags are worth it to buy

Not a fan of Aldi. It's inconvenient to have to bag your own groceries and the stock is limited. Just not my type of store.

I stopped shopping there because I noticed a decline in my health. A lot of their products are very low quality, especially their dairy. Almost everything is filled with seed oils. I started shopping at Sprouts and spending more money for better quality food and I saw a major change in my health in only 2 months.

Send Aldi a message don't shop there! Specials they do not have OMG wasting my petrol is not good for the envoirenment!

OK but can you give us bags?

I've lived 2 minutes away from an Aldi that I literally drive past everyday for 2 and half years and I've just now started shoping there. I've always brushed it off. And to be fare I also have walmart, target, and whole foods in the exact same area so I never felt a need to go there. But, to save on food I tried Aldi's and was pretty impressed.

The only thing I didn't like was no bags, I didn't know about that. I'll bring my own tote bag next time.

Nature provides us with enough food for every living creature on the planet. Farmers and supermarkets have the responsibility of growing, harvesting and distributing it responsibly. Billions of pieces of single-use plastic from each supermarket. Abusive and polluting factory farming. Selling products tested on animals and burning the rainforest for palm oil or soya. Use of sweat-shop factories. Clearly the food industry is not doing its job properly. Governments should legislate on these issues before it is too. Aldi are responsible as one of the UKs largest retailers, and should stop operating its business in such a dark, horrible and destructive manner.

I went shopping at Aldis at 63rd and Halsted Chicago and spent alot of money. They refused to let me use their bathroom and Im a senior citizen. I had to piss in their parking lot before walking 10 blocks home. I 'll never shop at Aldis again.

I don't loke how you have to pay for bags and the cart. And that they rush you out at the check out it seems like....or at least my location does. I am willing to drive further to go to another one. I can also buy certain things cheaper somewhere else. But anyways...I don't shop there for every and anything.

You’re missing out of herons. It’s a lot better as they sell foods and drinks for super cheap while being branded (like Walkers, Doritos, PepsiCo and Coca-Cola)

Been an avid Aldi shopper in the US since 2005-06. I must have lived in at least 6 states (NY, PA, NC, FL, VA, MD) since then and luckily each had an Aldi or two within a driving range from my home. I may have saved thousands of dollars so far in groceries so far without compromising on the quality. And yes, they do pay their employees well which shows in the fabulous customer care they exhibit in the stores. I can vouch that 100% of everything stated about Aldi here is absolutely true. Lastly, I am proud that I should have added at least 40-50 new customers for Aldi sheerly by my recommendation. :-)

My shopping list for Aldi is not brand specific as it was for other retailers. My Aldi list is categories only: chips, cereal, milk, meat, bread. I buy what is available. Saves time for me.

Easily my favorite grocery store. Great story! Brilliant management that disrupts the industry, no different then Tesla. Their Signature Brand is very reliable. Also, love the Aldi Finds section each Wed!
