Birkey on Tour - The Bahai Temple

In this video, I visit The Bahai Temple in Willmette, Illinois.
The footage was taken over a three day span at both dusk and dawn.
As a Maker, I am trying to observe and feel what the builders were trying to tell the casual visitor.
This mindset is far different that the typical tourist or pilgrim to this site. I'm here to study and to get inspired by the design, the craftsmanship, the materials, as well as the setting.
Take notice of the way the color of the crushed quartz changes in the different light, for instance. Observe that there appear to be no straight lines or flat panels.
This visit is not a religious pilgrimage for me, but the inspiration I took away directly affects my work in the shop.
That is the essence of #blamebirkey.
