Grew up in TEXAS and everyone in the late 70s wore boots and danced on the sandy cornmeal floors to the Western poetry of Willy, Waylon and the Boys, I held and spun so many pretty girls as Willy and Trigger filled our ears with music and rhymes, that let us escape the pressures of life - THANKS Willy and Trigger.

What a cool post! Very entertaining and informative. Willy is such an amazing talent. Not only can you hear his voice a mile away, he has his own “voice” on guitar. That’s something that very few players accomplish.

We toured the Martin Guitar company in Pennsylvania...on of the craftsmen mentiined how once in a while Willie brought his Trigger in for " maintenance "!

Honestly I have a similar sounding guitar

I have an old1953 00-18 G Martin I bought off a dealer in Halifax ! It is worn almost as bad as Trigger cause the person that had it before me used a pick like Wille does ! I had Martin reinstall the bridge and fix some cracks ! That poor guitar has never had it as good as I have treated it since I bought it ! It sounds great but not as great as Willie's N 20 !!! Could be a lot to do with who is playing it ???? Keep going Strong Wille !!!

The stories that guitar must have....wow, just wow.

In the mid 70’s when I was about 8 years old I had front row center seats to one of his shows. I had a custom made t shirt that said I ❤ Willie. I had braids and a red bandana and red cowboy boots. I tossed him my bandana and he played with it on the end of trigger and threw it back to me and smiled. Some very large horrible woman snatched it out of the air and wouldn’t let me have it. He was mid song and glared at her and strummed trigger extra hard in displeasure while the crowd at the front booed her. Later he gave me an autograph when he saw me and he had already turned down many. Funny thing was he was so drunk from passing a whisky jug back and forth with fans in the front row that his signature looked more like it said Waylon than it did Willie. But I will never forget that moment we had. I will be absolutely gutted when he heads off yonder. He’s a world treasure.

I respect Willie as a musical Icon, but he's not what he seems. He built his fame and fortune on the money of red boned, blue collar Americans......but he's really an diehard, Anti-America, Liberal. He even supports open boarders smh

About 2 weeks later I received a box delivered
