Good analytical video. Just a little nit-picking: the stress isn't an the A in Yggdrasil. It isn't Yggdraaasil.

It's not a stave church, it's a "gudehov" (modern Norwegian) a Norse temple. It is believed stave churches often were built in the locations and style of gudehov.
