Wundebar!
ОтветитьI wonder...are watches from the original, Jones-led IWC era still out there for purchase?
ОтветитьWhat is that gold vintage iwc on the beginning ?
ОтветитьThe reference watch used in this video is an Portuguese 75th Anniversary in SS. It’s an absolutely beautiful piece. I own one and have worn it as my primary daily-wear dress watch for the last 3+ years. Manual wind with an 8 day power reserve. It’s just about perfect.
ОтветитьMaybe my perspective is odd, being a pilot, engineer and aircraft mechanic... I feel a moral nudge to Not support, via product purchase, from a company who would fire the man who designed, engineered and built their product-- and who went on to profit from that product without his benefiting from his talent, skill and labor.
Ответитьgreat story, good video, however the quality of IWC watches are disappointing.. got a pilot's watch, and i never thought that a minute hand will not accurately move to the next after the second hand have turned a full cycle, took it to the dealer to check and they told me everything is working fine.
thanks IWC
I adore IWC.... I have a few cal 8541 and 89...and a 1999 Portfofino..... wonderful brand; great time keepers...
ОтветитьSo Jones was an engineer and Wilsdorf was a businessman. Once again, money makes the world go 'round!
ОтветитьPlease give review on Seiko SPB165J1..🙏🙏.. and suggest me best seiko presage watch please.
ОтветитьTheir big pilot is probably my favourite watch of all time. Beautiful in house movement, long power reserve of a week. Very practical to read, doubles up as a bed table clock if you need it. And the 46mm is the perfect size for me. I own 4 different models. Not as many as John mayer mind you!
ОтветитьNo matter how many times I hear it, I love that story! IWC, America's swiss watch company.
Ответитьwait, so until late 19th century Swiss watches were poorly made, unreliable affairs made by farmers during winters?
ОтветитьSo why the switch from 'luxury' to 'Premium' watch?
ОтветитьLove this!
Ответитьmmmmm Richemont dollars
ОтветитьMore! More!
ОтветитьAwesome storytelling. Fascinating history of IWC.
ОтветитьAlways love your videos❤️
ОтветитьAmazing to think today, that an engineer so skilled would never work in his chosen field ever again after one failure. When you see today people who fail in business walk out of one well paid position into the next.
ОтветитьI love my Mark XII
ОтветитьJones - the Wozniak without the Jobs.
ОтветитьWhat is the watch from the thumbnail? Awesome piece
ОтветитьWhat is the watch from the thumbnail? Awesome piece!
ОтветитьAnd from that amazing story of dedication, to charging absurdly high prices for case making and putting ETAs in them, making them one of the lowest value for money in the industry. But hey, you do anything to survive, don't you? Maybe now, with their own calibers they will prove themselves again and be proud of Jones' heritage.
ОтветитьAbout as short-sighted as his compatriot Joe '6 trillion fake bucks' Biden lol
ОтветитьWhat is the model you have there? I would love to find that one in the black face with those rounded font white numbers
ОтветитьGreat mini documentary, thanks for the content.
ОтветитьI wish they would use the “ international watch company” logo on the dress watches rather than IWC
ОтветитьMy favourite brand. Have got a few
ОтветитьLove it. I think it's a fascinating story, I believe Carl G. Jung was an investor also.
ОтветитьInspiring! Thank you. IWC was my first watch collection 30 years ago and it is still my favorite.
ОтветитьImagine that…realizing your purpose and honing the pursuit of it to the point that the product you dreamed of producing ended up being so high quality, no one could afford to buy it, not because you purposely inflated the numbers, but that you wanted to offer the highest quality product made by the highest trained people….that really must be soul crushing. 😞
Ответитьvery interesting story!
ОтветитьAmazing insights. Thank you
ОтветитьDamn that’s whack on a international level yo….
ОтветитьThis was a better lesson in business and success than many of the lessons I've be in.
ОтветитьOne of the best vids I have seen. Thank you for enriching my knowledge of the history of watches!
ОтветитьI can not get enough of your videos 😍
ОтветитьWhere do you find all this history!?!?! mindblown
ОтветитьMark XX! Can't wait to try this on
ОтветитьAmazing story. He was an amazing watchmaker and a perfectionist but terrible businessman. Sounds like me, I am good with tools but terrible at my finances🤫… Now I would like to know more information about the IWC Big Pilot 5029 with the ceramic case and how IWC came to that idea for the case. Actually is a mix of ceramic and titanium called Ceratanium. I do my own watches mods and I already have and IWC Big Pilot in ceramic and I would like to buy more piece to finish a complete watch. By the way, Rado was famous for making scratch resistant watches made of ceramic but the bracelet was made of very poor quality.
ОтветитьPlease do a story on Ulysse Nardin.
ОтветитьGreat video. Do more of these please. I hope there is a part two telling the rest of the story.
ОтветитьI have an IWC cal 8521. When I first got it the winder was missing . after repair with new parts not very long and the winder fell again . 3rd time lucky .NO . it,s out again It has as split stem which I feel is a design flaw . I also have an omega with the same issue . very dissapointed . when I eventually get them back I will sell them . I have SEIKO,S WHICH ARE BULLETPROOF.
Ответитьmay I ask, which is that nice IWC model / ref you are showing during the video, the one with the small second?
Ответить"Schaffusen"??
ОтветитьLindo
