Streets like a jungle/So call the police
Great stuff Mark!
hi guys
love the guitar of the day - great idea
few suggestions
1. history of guitar - everyone loves a story (where, when, how, why and who)
2. Take the extra 5 mins and do some good close ups (sorry im a filmmaker)
3. Price it up - most of us are saving - good to know a ball park figure
4. Tell us when choosing an amp - why - sounds matched, era specific etc
5. Year specific notes - jazz bass like this was made from - 67-73 or whatever it is..
6. Show a bit of the case if its original (cause this is also an ad)
7. Who used the guitar - famous players
thanks and keep on rocking
Ash or alder body? If it's alder it's really rare for that period...
ОтветитьGroovy.
ОтветитьThere's often a good reason why some Fender basses spend their lives in a case. All the good ones get played. The bad ones get shoved in a case, only to be produced decades later and sold for an exorbitant price to the average undiscerning player who's too enamoured with the romance of so-called 'vintage' basses to notice the drawbacks. I used a '78 jazz for 20 years. It was a DOG; dull and lifeless, AND it weighed 13 lbs. I kept it so long because it was the only bass I could afford at the time. The thing with Fender basses - especially post 1975 jazz basses- is that they're very hit and miss. A few are great; some are good; a lot are average; many are terrible. P.s. beware the painted ones. They're usually made of wood offcuts laminated together and are often very heavy and dull-sounding
ОтветитьNice bass I'd like to have it, First thing I'd do is lose the pickup covers. I own 5 Jazz basses and two of them had their original covers, most people take them off, they just get in the way and aren't really necessary and limit the sound you can get from it by limiting where you can pluck or pick the strings.
ОтветитьHave you checked the stamping in the neck pocket? On my bass which has a 78 serial number there is a stamp of 82.
