Fun fact: Peña was one of the DEA agents in Mexico when they destroyed the Marijuana field and involved in the arrest of Rafa Caro Quintero, so he probably knew Kiki, he should've appeared as Cameo at least once in Narcos Mexico season 1

Before Kiki and early 80s Mexico cases, the DEA didn't get any respect like other federal agencies like CIA or FBI, after the torture and murder of Kiki making the headline, the DEA finally got the respect from everyone, especially the Cartels in Central and South America.

The way Narcos is narrated and just presents itself made me dislike the character of Kiki in the series.

After watching Narcos: Mexico…. This tiny mention of him hits so much harder. This man had a beautiful wife and kids…..

Agent Camarena was assassinated by the CIA, and the scapegoat was Caro Quintero.
Agent Camarena initiated an investigation to see where so much drugs came from, investigated the origin of the money, realized a dark truth, the government of his country was involved in the drug trafficking business, (The CIA sold and distributed drugs in the United States With the money, the CIA financed the wars in Central America) having compromising information in their possession, they assassinated him.

1- The largest drug cartel is the US agency DEA, the drug lords are just puppets who answer to the DEA, and those who do not comply with the agreement, because they are simply extradited to the United States.

2- Agent Camarena was killed by the CIA, rival of the DEA and the scapegoat was Caro Quintero.

3- Not all DEA agents are honorable heroes, as they are portrayed by Hollywood superheroes in the style of avengers, the vast majority are involved in the big business of drug trafficking, they only catch small fish.

4- The United States sells weapons to drug lords, or illegally smuggles them into Mexico.
I remind you of Operation Fast and Furious.
(When the Federal government of the United States illegally brought weapons into Mexico).

5- As long as the United States continues to be the largest consumer of drugs in the world, drug trafficking will not end.

6- The legalization of all drugs is a viable option to eradicate drug trafficking, but it would end the business controlled by certain US businessmen.

All that matters is that people remember the name Enrique “Kiki” Camarena. We will never forget that name. RIP.
