How short-sighted to knockdown and destroy Poole Power Station, we are borderline for power production now, with the increase in electric in the home and electric vehicles all wanting more, some of our power stations are near to decommissioning, we will end up importing power at a much higher cost. So sad to see the lack of vision by those in power to let this happen.

I only live about 7 miles away in Southbourne but this has made me want to visit again. I haven't been to Poole (except driving trains), for about 20 years.

Is Poole a good place to live

Spent many a weekend down there in the Seacadets. Stayed at RM Poole base. Sailed around all weekend

Was born in 1940. Lived in Poole until I was 13, at which time my parents emigrated to Canada, The way I remember the Quay was the unloading of coal for the Gas Works; Poole Grammar School was right beside Poole Park in Seldown and Baiter was a local tip for Poole Pottery Works. The bus stand was one concrete road right beside the train station, and the local bus company was Hants & Dorsets.
