This is the original and first release of this classic song, recorded in July 1960, about a year before Burl Ives released his famous version in March 1961. It was written by Hank Cochran, who didn't release his own version until 1965.

The original version by Ray Sanders is no longer available (except on the original vinyl) and has never been re-released.
