My LR4 has had an “excess weight” issue recently. It’s 4 months out of warranty.

Their response is I can buy a new base, which is 400 dollars. That would take me over 1k in 1.5 years. Very hard to swallow.

My pet safe ended up having mold after only a week. Not a fan with the cleaning mechanism, constant jamming as well.

I tried to have one automatic litter box, and it broke within two years... But since I'd used the Catit Smartsift Automatic Sifting Cat Litter Box, though not being automatic in an eletric way it seems to work fine for my one cat. (I flip it once a day)

Mine is litter robot 3 air to many issue with circle. 2 years old now not work at all. I still looking heavy duty litter box clean self, i dont look for litter robot to many issue tired to fixed the light error and error circle. ill try different brands.

The customer service thing you spoke about is cause our Gov sold out for profit so now Americans can’t communicate with customer service places. It’s the very most frustrating thing in the worldddddd I can’t stand it one reason I want to give up my cell phone.

Will the Litter Robot significantly reduce the amount of litter on the floor? It’s driving me actually crazy!! I spent 2 hours vacuuming/mopping my entire house, only to come back into the living room when I was done, and see my hairless brat (not a typo) had kicked litter all over my nice clean floor. I’m over it and I’m about ready to move out.

I personally have bought litter robots for wow you must be over 10 years or so since my quadra-polydactyl (9 extra toes...mad rare, but front and back) almost 17 year old boy Aiden (beautiful, rescue, tiger tabby, neutered male) still uses my LR3. He also somehow still has the ability to jump up onto stools that I have with regular awful clay litter for my mother's rag doll that is used to it uses, my mother passed away in my house about a month ago after I took care of her for a year (along with her French bulldog and ragdoll...with Aiden, my 6-year-old Siamese and my new addition to the family at the time a 10 week year old goldendoodle).

All of that said I have loved little robots all the way back to when they weren't "Whisker". That company rocks! Paying $500 to $700 for a litter box makes people think I'm crazy. But they've been amazing even though I have had to buy three and the lifespan of my almost 17 year old Aiden.

Do you know of any places to get significant discounts on the new LR4? My lr3 is still working well but I'm currently housing as I said my mother's ragdoll as well. Since I didn't work for the last year and a half taking care of her, before she passed away I'm a little less flush - then I used to be as an oncology scientist 🤦🏼‍♂️😢 - I'd like to introduce a new LR4 to my animal menagerie of now 5... But things are a bit tight. $700 or even ~$500 that I paid back in the day when I had a full-time job
... Just isn't quite as feasible.

As the keeper of 15 cats, I think I'll stick with my storage container litter boxes. None of these automatic boxes seem big enough or deep enough. And several of my cats love to dig dig dig. And I have two close to 20 pounds each.

These automatic litter boxes would be more trouble than they're worth for me, but they may work for someone who has far fewer cats to care for.

Thank you for this video, it has been very helpful. I often came across the PetSnowy litter box which, although huge, seems to be a good product in theory. So I am wondering why you never made a review on it and didn't include it in the best litter boxes of 2023?

I have the petkit puraX, it lasted 1 year and 2 months..... They said they can offer a discount on a new one.... A new $600 litter box that lasted 2 months out of warranty....

As someone who previously owned a cat genie, it should be noted that not all cats will adjust to the change of litter it takes. Unfortunately, regardless of what I did, one of my kitties would never fully transition to the new litter.

Litter Robot we found to leak urine at the seams for cats who don’t squat as low. We also found for older cats you must add the steps. We ultimately gave away out litter robot 3. Keeping it clean was a constant battle and the cats tracked litter well beyond the step.

Ty for the reviews. Already own one of the ScoopFree models. Gonna look into a reusable tray and buying the crystals in bulk 👍

After fully watching and considering all the elemts of each cleaner its just best to clean the box yourself get a large box and it should last you at least a full day if you have 2 or less cats

This was a great video as I am looking at getting a cat and no very very little to nothing about the care or cleaning of them. Are there any updates to your video as far as these litter boxes. I live in a medium sized condo and would love if you could suggest which of these 4 would be best. I gathered from this video either Robot 3 or Petsafe one was your choices despite u having the Robot 4 as your top pick. Would that be correct for the most part?

I adopted two kittens last week and had to use a litter box until the LR4 arrived and the kittens used it immediately! The set up was easy, the app is great and I even moved the LR4 to a different location and the kittens had no problems. Seems like my back appreciates the LR4 too lol. It’s only been a week so I’ll come back for another update later.

Hi! I'm not sure where to ask, but this seems the most appropriate place. Do you know of any manual controlled non electric litter boxes to recommend? For example a sifter that is maybe a drum with a hand crank to roll it for sifting. I ask because while i am too frail to use normal sifters (i am disabled), i really hate the idea of not being able to monitor my aging kitty's box usage. My current box, I am using the pet safe scoop free box and I just plug it in a couple times a day to scoop, however, the disposable litters are very heavy for me and changing them out is a struggle. Not to mention the monthly cost that you addressed in the video. Thanks.

Has anyone here tried the pet snowy?

The benefit of the the Cat Genie A.I. that trumps all other considerations for me is the automation. I have 5 cats and 2 Cat Genies A.I.'s (both Genies are over 2 years old). I just set up the litter pans in my laundry room--waste lines go to the washing machine waste line, so no bathroom stink and extra toilet flushing. Then, I and forget about them until I get an error message on my phone, which usually takes 3-6 months. When that happens, I just follow a 30 minute cleaning/maintenance routine, which involves replacing a plastic sensor and one or two rubber gaskets (about $10 total cost), and then forget about them again for another 3-6 months. Little to no litter additions, NO waste bag removals and replacements, and NO smells. Visitors wouldn't even know I owned cats based on the smell alone. Every 240 cycles, I'm notified to replace the deodorizer cartridge, which ends up being the biggest expense--totally worth it @ $0.09 per litter washing cycle, BTW. Dealing with cat waste doesn't get easier or more pleasant than that.

The A.I.'s were a step up from my original Cat Genies that finally wore out--one lasted 10 years, the other lasted 12 years. With those old units, I had to visually check on the litter plans occasionally to make sure they were working properly. Even so, I only touched them once every 3-6 months. So easy, so pleasantly lacking in cat urine and feces smell.

I have a few relatives who use the Litter-Robot 3. Don't let anyone tell you that those things don't stink. In fact, it's the abrupt rise in the stink level that reminds you that the waste bag is full or overflowing. Chronic low levels of cat waste stench with weekly spikes to nauseating levels is no way to live. On top of that, clumping litter is way more expensive than the total running costs of the Cat Genie, and the waste bags get full on their schedules, not yours.
