This is a nice start, but respectfully you omitted a lot of history (Frederick Douglass, Harriett Tubman freedom fighter, Jim Crow/lynchings, restriction of home mortgages, GI Bill restrictions, Black Wall Street, Shirley Chisholm, the black US Marshall on whom was based The Lone Ranger tv series, Nobel Peace Prize/Pulitzer winning writer Toni Morrison, Nearest Green who taught Jack Daniels how to distill whiskey, etc).

There's also no mention of the hundreds of black inventors, one of who's invention of the long-lasting filament facilitated Thomas Edison's invention to flourish. Another discovery was the creation of plasma by a black physician making it possible to store and transport blood for transfusions. How about the traffic light, the commode, gas masks for firefighters, feminine products, etc. So many important inventions and contributions were made by black Americans which the world has benefited from, but of course get little to no credit. Not a peep

And let's not forget that America's economic power since 1619 was built on THE BACKS of enslaved people of Africa, yet no reparations have been made nor even considered. Very sad. We've come a long way, but we have a long way to go.

When the learned men wrote the Declaration of Independence the part about equality was meant for rich white men who owned property. Let’s stop giving them credit as visionaries who foresaw the Black man being more than slaves.
