How to fix GPU sag ONCE AND FOR ALL! FREE!

I have the EVGA 3080 and it sagged day 1. I got a bracket mounted support.

A very sexy little bracket came with my RTX4080 that matches the top plate .

no one talks about cables pulling card with additional force down.... they could'ev at least make some models with power connectors on the back and close to the motherboard...puting it where are they now, is the worst possible place regarding this problem

I actually did something similar using those brackets coupled along with the packaging the came with my GPU, before I found this video. My GPU has a custom waterblock so I had to apply the brackets towards the glass of the case as oppose to anywhere else.

I don’t mind the dumb bracket msi ships. Though I did notice it wasn’t actually touching the card when I first got it, so it was mostly there for emotional support.

imagine spending over $1000 on a nice pc and not spending another $10 on a gpu support brace smh.

Doing the method in this video still puts a lot of weight of the card on the PCIe slot and its solder joints. Read: Your glowing LED fratboy computer looks just as stupid and obnoxious as the ground effects on your Civic and the testicles on your F150. All: Just use zipties, ditch the lights and close the case so others don't have to sear their retinas on your ego driven monstrosity. Use the extra money to buy another game or take your mom out for lunch, and please stop yelling at her.

Never had to deal with this. My GPU is suspended from the underside of my desk along with the rest of the computer, but good to know.

For me I think my Zalman tower's brackets never align with GPU's. Which is dumb because other expansion cards from usb to wi-fi cards screw on just fine.

hum... After watching this video maybe Gigabyte is the culprit here not making standard mounting brackets. Given that I tend to go with their mobo and gpu's when possible thinking they'll be most compatible with one another.

I use lego to make a support stand in a fun design.

I always used a perfect link piece of metal to support the card.

my case came with a cool little bracket that mounts onto the ends of most GPUs and you screw it to the case holding it sturdy as fuck

okay now I feel dumb for babying my gpu when installing it jays just wobbling these things around without a care in the world...

visually it is better, but there is still a little less weight hanging on the pcie slot, but this weight has not disappeared, only the point right behind the herring is more loaded and exposed to PCB bending.

You'd think after 20 years plus we COULD ditch PCIE slots

This is no near a replacement for a support bracket, because the card is still exposed to the tension that sooner or later could result in failure due to break of solder joints under the chips...
