My biggest problem with this video is that he doesn’t tell you about how optimized these games are for console, ofc they’ll run better on console because the game was made with that console in mind, I feel like so many people got opinions on what they see on the surface but never want to do actual research. It’s a lot to get into when it comes to explaining it but please people do research and watch videos from actual game devs who make console games, they’ll tell you the same thing and they’re the ones who made the game you’re praising

You can get WAY better than an i5 9400F and GTX 1660 for $500, such as a Ryzen 5 3600/5500/i3 12100F and a Radeon RX 5700 XT, and those specs would basically match the PS5

I play BG3 and Cyberpunk 2077 on a GTX 1060, with customized settings. Most of them are set to high and my FPS are stable at 60 most of the time. I've seen people who play Spiderman Miles Morales on max settings with a gtx 1660 with 60 fps stable, same for a game like Red dead 2 and you can play last of us with all on high at 50 fps with the fsr on quality/balance.

ofc, your buying an pre built and you can get a better rtx with that budget

what I'm getting from this video and from reading some of the comments is that I should get myself a PS5 and an Xbox Series S in addition to a basic laptop that I'd use for everything else but gaming and I'll be set

PC is waaaaaaaaay better because it can do everything the ps cannot do. Point and shoot is also waaaaaaaaay too much more accurate with PC compared to ps and other consoles.

Sorry, but in "sanctioned" Russia I could build a much better PC for that price, for example on a 12th intel and something like a 2060 super. I'm surprised that this piece of garbage can cost 500$ in Canada, I always thought it's like America where prices are much cheaper 🫢

idk what pc u built for 500 but i can run almost any game past 60 fps at 1080p most of the time 80 fps 150fps on smaller games

Honestly it’s a win win for me. I built a pc under 400$ and can run Fortnite at 180fps, and in Minecraft almost at 1k fps.

Since most consoles are sold at a loss it might be more productive to do a manufacturing cost as a baseline

Gaming PCs got so popular that the prices obviously had to go up. It's kinda sad actually, because in the end a PC is way more long lasting and versatile than a console, but at the moment just way more expensive.
Although the console optimization is an advantage.
Plus, if you'd give a PC the "same" parts that the PS5 has, it would perform better. It's the same thing with Laptops. They might have the same parts as an PC, but still perform worse.

Ultra settings on PC are not equal to PS5 highest settings.. They are far more demanding on PC.

Well i builded a Gaming Budget PC for around 570$

And i gotta say that if you choose your parts really wisely you can get something very good. To be honest my Graphicscard is struggling often but it is way better than on my xbox series s.

Realistically, it should be compared to a $400 pc since you aren’t buying discs for pc. The all digital ps5 doesn’t play physical games just like most PC’s.

So I’d like to know, is building a PC truly worth it for gaming? I have a ps5 and have been looking into building a pc ( 1 - 1.2k ) for the build. Will it even compare to the way a ps5 runs? Should I just stick with the ps5 and not waste money. Any opinions will help

Optimization is a big thing and game company don't give a shit about PC so keep that in mind. The Last Of Us port is trash and even on high end rigs its still trash. The beauty of PC is you have the power. They also put bullshit "No pirate" software and that holds your computer back. You also have a bunch of websites to get games from. Consoles used to be easy and convenient. Pop in a game and go not anymore also the bullshit that if we go all digital makes game cheaper is bullshit they raised the prices. There is not much value in console gaming. Consoles now are for casual monkeys that don't value gaming culture. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS FOOL.

The thing is, it's hard to convince parents to buy a dedicated gaming device, i mean it is easier to convince them to buy a budget gaming pc for other reasons like programming.

If you’re spending 500 on a prebuilt pc thinking you’re gonna get the same performance you are dreaming. The gpu equivalent which is an amd 6700xt by itself is $330 to $585. So if my math is mathing you will spend more. And oh do not buy anything prebuilt for the love of all build your own rig!
