So many commments of 'UK is soft'. Out of a population of over 60 million, number 1 had 1671 complaints! Most of us weren't the least bit offended
ОтветитьThe Volkswagen ad is weird what's it got to do with cars?
ОтветитьI remember most of these as a kid, many just went right over my head - like the Barnardos one but when I look at them now as an adult, understanding it I find it chilling. Different children are affected in different ways though by what they see and hear. At10 none of these would have really bothered me but my high functioning autistic 12 year old daughter is the total opposite. She gets scared extremely easily, even the 1931 Frankenstein movie gave her nightmares which is very tame by todays standards. Many of these adverts would frighten her but not for the right reasons or intended outcomes. So, no, shock adverts are not always appropriate for everyone to be exposed to without warning.
ОтветитьI am extremely weird, Mk? I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY THAT I CAN NOW KNOW HOW MANY COMPLAINTS THERE WERE AND WHY- if that weren’t there I would probably cry 😭👍
ОтветитьScaring children so they don't smoke I think is a good thing
ОтветитьPeople who complained about the Pot Noodle advert must be really fun at parties
ОтветитьI think number 5 would actually be a good story to tell your kids, I mean it does teach you about climate change.
Ответить"The advert with the ghost was scary" Yes, ghosts seem to be awfully scary that's their whole gig mate
ОтветитьBut... But... But... That Pot Noodle one was funny, for weeks we kinda re-enacted it at school (obvs without being too invasive of privacy)
Ответитьthat too violent one was too badass, that they had to take it away
ОтветитьIf “Engineer” was considered “too violent” for some viewers then I can only imagine what would happen if they saw a page of Berserk
ОтветитьThese are meant to be hard hitting right? The people that complained don't even make up 1percent of the UK population, and probably people that complain about the neighbours overgrown tree to the police lol.
ОтветитьI don't understand why people allow their children to watch non kids tv
ОтветитьWasn't there a Banned TalkTalk advert?
ОтветитьThe complaints about the flood/storm climate change advert are (nowadays) quite sad in their naivety. The UK post-2019 has some of the worst floodings/storms at an unseen frequency.
In South Wales (2019/20) we had extreme flooding - some small patches of low-elevation had waters about 8ft+ high, submerging the ground floor in unlucky houses and buildings. Next year, a storm that uprooted trees, tore off roofs (Newport), tore down walls, smashed windows and mangled vehicle exteriors with flying debris, pulled out lamposts, and (unsure if it was this particular storm) caused 20ft+ waves on the south-eastern coast. That morning a fence came down and we stabilized it thinking it's the worst it gets... before it doubles in force. While sheltered inside, our greenhouse was smashed to bits; raining shards of glass up to 20 metres away.
#2 - What the fuck is this ad all about? What are footballers with blindfolds advertising? And why did one of them kick the cat?
ОтветитьPeople need to get overthemshelves
ОтветитьIn my country as a kid I literally watched an anti smoking ad which they squeezed the gunk inside the aorta like mashed potatoes
ОтветитьThe KFC ad was very annoying and disgusting tbh
Ответить“Stupid kids” most of the time on the reasons why ads get banned
ОтветитьEdd; oh thanks for the wishes
ОтветитьTom is a mad man
ОтветитьThat guy in the first ad should've told his girlfriend that his penis was too hard for an unknown reason.
Also, was it necessary for him to break the DJ's machine?
The pot noodle horn one was pretty funny
Also, is the Mouthful advert song a parody of an already-existing song?
Oh Jesus Christ, watching this and knowing they got hundreds of complaints makes me so angry. These adverts are pretty tame compared to some of the gory and violent films they show after 9. GROWE UP people, get a sense of humour and stop complaining about silly things like the Karate advert and the little girl advert was the tamest ad ever!!! ) :<
ОтветитьCan someone please tell tv advertisers that white people as well as black people live in this country!!
ОтветитьBut psas from the UK government are ok
ОтветитьI can't believe number 1 haha, encourages kids to have bad manners lol! What the actual heck. I'm British, I guess I can imagine that being a thing lol
ОтветитьTo be fair some of these are tame compared to what I thought would be on here. Anyone remember the Don’t Phone And Drive ad where the car barrel rolls into a bunch of school kids? THAT SHOOK ME.
ОтветитьI remember some old smoking ads that I got my mum to sit and wach I could see ( I was only 5 ) that these ads made her uneasy about smoking which was the point so I think over the past 10 years we have slowed down on smoking I think we need more ads like hooked to make people see the danger of smoking
ОтветитьNothing ofensive about the adverts , just snowflakes being snowflakes
ОтветитьBreak the cycle helped me understand I had school related PTSD. If a student doesn't have the answer, there's likely more of a reason than they didn't study. Like mental health issues, which schools in the US are FINALLY starting to address. Well, okay maybe they only started to care after the shootings happened.
ОтветитьBloody Boomers complain about literally anything.
ОтветитьThat first one was good in theory but too many dirty jokes weren’t understood like, they could have had that horn in his sleeve, shirt or pocket but it had to be the place where men get boners. It also wasn’t written right, “my pot noodle horn is angry” really? No one thought about how that can be interpreted
ОтветитьI don't think a lot of these ads should have been banned. People got upset by the PIFs, the thing is that's the fucking point. I hate to break it to you but the world isn't all unicorns, lollypops and rainbows. I reckon it was mostly conservatives complaining about these, especially the Co2 one, I mean if they can whinge about Santa having a Covid pass they will whinge about anything.
ОтветитьThe co2 advert was complained about for being unrealistic. Sounded like the population had common sense back then why are there no complaints over the constant non stop co2 fear ads anymore
ОтветитьThe bad thing is that only 0.1111% complain out of a population of 70m people but it’s the 0.1111% who get listened too by the regulators
Ответитьpeople who are soft should not be allowed to own a tv
Ответитьnumber one was talking with your mouthful? several away from a schoolgirl rinsing her veins with Heroin? jesus! today Britain's got Talent gets more complaints! I'm not saying you should complain about awareness but it shows how the average viewer has changed and what people are more used to.
ОтветитьAdverts? I wouldn't dream of sitting there just watching the bloody things. Just record everything and fast-forward through them.
ОтветитьI remember most of these from tv
ОтветитьI had a nightmare about people with no money to pay bills, and going without food and no friends, shocking as I now watch these adverts and see a nightmare reality for some, barndos advert is a shocking advert.
ОтветитьMost of these complaints are peak "Won't somebody please think of the children!" territory lol
ОтветитьThe second one is funny. The Volkswagen one is actually rather profound.
ОтветитьNumber 1?? 😭😭😭 bro what
ОтветитьPeople were upset by the "REALITY" of the Barnardos add? Awwww diddums, Poor them, best to bury their heads in the sand and pretend it doesn't happen.
ОтветитьThe Pot Noodle horn is one of the best ads EVER🤣
Ответить
