Came here looking for socks that give least friction. I dry up so soon around the ball of the foot and it stiffens and rips in a few weeks in that spot. And walking becomes uncomfortable

Your pics for ankle socks aren't all accurate. Some were pictured as no shows. Many of your no shows are not no shows but instead footie socks- they are different. Footies are usually worn by women when they wear flats. Obviously can be worn with loafers for men just not as common compared to women. No shows typically work for nearly every occasion unless your shoe is really low.

Ankle socks are like you said, called "ankle", "quarter", etc. Ankle socks go pretty high to the ankle or slightly past it. I think they usually look ridiculous unless worn while playing sports and have a few for that or when I wear pants sometimes. They feel great, but look bad and dorky for me when I wear shorts. This is usually highly dependent on the shoes.

Half crew socks I think go well with both high top and low top sneakers as long as you match to color and brand properly

This video is a complete joke, and the fact that it’s created and narrated by a man is horrifyingly embarrassing. First; real men only own, let alone wear, white socks. Second; Invisible/no show/low cut/quarter socks were an abysmal and short lived 2000‘s fad. Those are not, never have been and never will be a men’s clothing item. The rise of swag fashion about 12 years ago thankfully murdered them and made guys socks long and pulled high again. Real men only wear white over the calf tube socks, and pull them up to the knees, whether they are wearing shorts or pants. Crew socks are more common, and almost acceptable, but merely a compromise for guys that are chickenshit and want to wear over the calf white tube socks, but are scared of fashionista judgment. Anything colored or shorter than crew socks are an utter abomination on a man.

And how am I going to show off my cool socks if I shouldn't wear them with shorts!

I will always wear knee high socks till the day I die. To hell with societal norms and what people think is appropriate. Confidence will always make anything look good because I always get compliments on my crazy knee high sock. I'm a skater and they protect my shins when skateboarding. Forget what anyone says is fashionable just do you and make sure you're confident while doing it. Confidence is cool confidence is fashionable confidence is key.

I ADORE socks. Probably my 2nd favourite pair of clothes to wear. I have over 300 pairs of socks. (That’s 2 dresser drawers full)
